I intend to keep my oath and honor the memory of these great men and our founders

TimStoneyMy family has a history of service to our great country and local communities.  My Great Great Grandfather died in the 3rd battle of Winchester in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.  He was corporal in the Confederate Army.  My Grandfather fought in the first World War and survived.  One of my fathers brothers fought in Europe in WWII, the other in Korea.  They both made it home but not without wounds.  My father served in peacetime and after his enlistment came home to become a policeman.  My father served 21 years as policeman and detective on the local level, and twenty more as an investigator on the State level.  All of these men served their best and did what they thought right.  They served to insure that their children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, could grow up in a free country with personal liberty.

It was instilled in me from a child that freedom isn’t free.  That brave courageous men paid the ultimate sacrifice to insure our freedom and liberty.

I joined the U.S. Coast Guard during peacetime to learn and become a man.  My service was mostly uneventful, but my oath to the United States Constitution was the same oath that my forefathers took.  I intend to keep my oath and honor the memory of these great men and our founders.  God Bless America.

Thank you, wow what a family history, it is because of all the people across the decades like your family that we are the country and people we are today. Unless we continue having people willing to take the burden of defending this country now and in the future, with the same dedication you and your familily exhibited, this great country with all its freedoms and traditions will cease to exist as we know it. So again thank you and God Bless America!
