I will always uphold my oath even when it is apparent that it is not being held up in my defense

American_Flag_2I am an American veteran. For 25 years I served both Active Duty and National Guard. I am a retired Msgt and have served deployments in the Gulf, in Humanitarian aid during the time of Katrina and many other such campaigns and deployments through-out the years.

I am currently in a fight to save the very home I live in. My mortgage company is seeking to foreclose on my home when I got a little behind last year when my wife was out of work and my new civilian job cut hours drastically. For months they promised me they would provide a work around a modification and for months they kept putting me off, call back next month our case load is huge and we just cant get to you. I kept asking about the programs out there that our so-called Government was promising would be there to help people in my situation and I am sure there are many. I started making regular payments when my wife found work and things seemed to get better, we did not totally catch up but we were making monthly payments again.

They called me on a Saturday and told me after many months of promises that they had closed our account and our home was going into foreclosure. I am a Veteran and can not get help from any quarter. I served in defense of this country for many years and am now abandoned by the very institution I once served. I will always uphold my oath even when it is apparent that it is not being held up in my defense. I have never felt this alone before.

I will always fight and never give up because it is in my nature. I just thought that you should hear the story of what one veteran is now facing in this country.

sincerely;
Eric

    Thanks for holding true to your Oath. I hope you find a place that is more affordable for your circumstances. I had to downsize five years ago, myself when I foresaw that I would not be able to maintain my mortgage payments. It was a painful process to leave a place I had put ten years of blood, sweat, tears and a couple $100K into. It was a terrible loss, but I ended up in a MUCH better situation. Good luck to you, and thanks for your service.
