I remember this oath I took along with 12 other people

USMCI took my oath in the seventies when I enlisted in the Marine Corps. I remember this oath I took along with 12 other people at the AAFES station in Detroit before I left on a bus to Parris Island. Yes, the Constitution was before the President in the oath!

I remember the chills I got when taking this oath and it made me come to attention before I knew how to. I don’t regret a minute of the time I was in the Marine Corps, and that was for four years (except being away from home.) and have been to five Countries.

I was with the first Military Police Company (5811 MOS). Today I still remember that oath and am glad to carry it on with the Oath Keepers.
