They have earned our Respect and Honor

DSCF0003I served my country in two branches of our military.  My father lost his arm in the Soloman Islands WW2.  My grand fathers and every uncle I am aware of served in WW2.  But that is not what I want to talk about.  When Operation Iraq Freedom started I began to remember Viet Nam and how few soldier’s were more than 20 years old. I decided that if there was a way to get involved my old face would be there with our young men.  I spent many months in the mid east as a Force protection Officer.

Now, my point, on my flight over I started to wonder if I had made a mistake.  I thought to myself, “man, I’m not going to get along with these kids they just don’t have what it takes these days”.  I want everyone to know that I was completely wrong in my thoughts.  The young men and women I was with, along with a few other dinosaurs, made me so proud to be an American and be counted among them.  They were as dedicated to the branches of service they were in and as Loyal to our great Nation as a human could be.  The young American soldier of today Honors us all and had I not been injured I would still be there with them and proud of it.  They have earned our Respect and Honor.  If you know one of them tell them what I said, Please.

Respectfully
Art
