I wanted to make a difference, so I joined the Air Force
On the 22nd of November 1974, at the ripe old age of 23, I raised my right hand and swore “to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America..”.
All my male friends were Viet Nam Vets and I felt left out. I wanted to make a difference as well. So, I joined the Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller for 6 years.
After my 1st 6 my new husband and I decided that with a new baby the military was the best way to go. That didn’t break my heart,I knew that this was what I wanted to do. In all I raised my right hand a total of 4 times and each time I got a lump in my throat as I said my oath and felt my heart swell with pride. I did make a difference.
At this moment I am running for office in my adopted home state of New Mexico and I’m hoping to make a difference here. I am also a member of the local Tea Party. I’m glad my friend gave me the Oath Keepers info and sticker. He and his wife told me to check it out, I’m happy I did.
For years my husband and I have felt the same way as the “Orders we will NOT obey” many times we have talked about what we would do if things go to hell, how we would take care of our family. I feel this is the place to start.
So, once again, I Debra Lee White, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against ALL enemies foreign and domestic….
Please donate and support Oath Keepers mission, every little bit helps!
