Oath Keepers vow to shelter the families of current serving during emergencies
Oath Keepers, the non-partisan association of current serving military, police, fire fighters, veterans and dedicated citizens has announced their new Family Safe Program.
This program is designed to serve those who serve us, our military, and police, fire fighters, National Guard and first responders who protect us during times of need.
Many times these honorable people are called upon to manage serious events with little time to secure their own affairs and protect their families and property. Family Safe will provide this missing level of support. A network of pre-screened Oath Keeper member volunteers will be set to assist or even host the families of our current serving military, police, fire fighters and first responders during times of emergency or need.
The need for this service was evident during hurricane Katrina when a number of first responders were securing their families first. Some were unable to return once their families were safely evacuated. Now, because of Family Safe, there will be a plan and an option for these dedicated professionals. They will no longer be in the unenviable position of having to choose between their family and their duty. Family Safe volunteers will be there to assist them in securing their property or with evacuation to a safe haven.
Family Safe hosts are committed to providing temporary housing, transportation, and essential supplies such as food, water, and clothing and even assist with financial support through donations received.
In addition, Regional Family Safe groups will maintain supplies of essential and emergency supplies so response can be immediate.
If a first responder is not worried about their family, they can be more focused on their duty and upholding their Oath. This is also a way for those of us who are no longer in active service to assist our current serving brothers and sisters.
The primary focus of Family Safe is to provide assistance, sanctuary and security to current serving military and public service personnel and their families. Because of the diverse public service experience of our members we will also maintain an on call network of member volunteers to provide mutual aid relief and shelter during and after a disaster to each other and our communities. Our goal is to be able to help our communities and be prepared to assist in times of need. This fits well with the obligation of civic duty and responsibility our Founders envisioned for us.
With a local network of trained personnel in place supplies and assistance would be immediately available to our communities.
