I am not here only to fight fires but to help my fellow Americans

I Michael J. DeGiglio Sr. have served in the Fire Service in New Jersey since 1988. I had taken an oath one year later(after my probation period was complete) the oath was to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the state of New Jersey. I no longer serve in a volunteer fire department but now serve as a paid Firefighter instructor. I take my oath very seriously, I am not here only to fight fires but to help my fellow Americans.

During the time of hurricane Katrina I informed my wife that my duty was to go down and help just as I did at the World Trade Center site in Sept. 2001. Once I had read that I would be working for FEMA and that one was signing on for an ‘unlimited hitch’ it made me think. After seeing how illegally the police had acted in disarming their citizens, which was THE time when they may have needed their weapons most to defend their families, well I’m glad that I stayed home. I am in shock that these law enforcement officials in my country would act without regard for their own oaths of office.

Welcome, Mike, and thanks for your service.
You’re one of those nut-jobs that intentionally go into and onto burning buildings and under collapsed junk.
Thank God, I only had to do that silly stuff once or twice; I was (30 years) one of those goofs that firefighters thought was insane for intentionally going up to and into buildings where it was likely that somebody with a gun and a bad attitude was hiding and waiting for me.

You make us stronger with your presence, and made your community, and even strangers’ communities, safer. Let’s make sure nobody makes bad decisions like you saw again.

Truly selfless, altruistic heroes to be honored for all time. I breathe today because of the sacrifices made by your brothers in Florida (Lealman FD – 1979).

Thank you to ALL who actually risk their lives for nothing more than the saving of another. YOU are the REAL heroes!

Having served in both the Army and then as a State Trooper, I know fire fighters as incredibly able, self sacrificing, men of courage. I stand proudly beside you in our fight to preserve the Republic and our way of life. Oath of Enlistment

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Site Dedication

This site is dedicated to the memory of John William Adams (1925-2006), Marine and Oath Keeper extraordinaire.

John Adams, at the age of 16, lied about his age to join the Marines so he could fight against Imperial Japan in the Pacific. His enlistment date was December 10, 1941, just three days after the attack on Pearl Harbor (see below). As a Marine rifleman, he fought the Japanese from island to island, across the pacific, including at Iwo Jima. We may have good men, but we never had better.

Until his death in 2006, he was a dedicated patriot who still took his oath to defend the Republic deadly serious. May God grant you the courage to do likewise.

Founder Stewart Rhodes

He is a former firearms instructor and former member of Rep. Ron Paul’s DC staff.

Stewart previously wrote the monthly Enemy at the Gates column for S.W.A.T. Magazine

Stewart graduated from Yale Law School in 2004, where his paper “Solving the Puzzle of Enemy Combatant Status” won Yale’s Miller prize for best paper on the Bill of Rights. He assisted teaching U.S. military history at Yale, was a Yale Research Scholar, and is writing a book on the dangers of applying the laws of war to the American people.
