Congressional Candidate Lieutenant Colonel Allen West talks about the Oath to Defend the Constitution

westimage2Congressional Candidate Lieutenant Colonel Allen West talks at the American Freedom Tour.  Colonel West really gets the crowd fired-up as he talks about his experience in the U.S. Army and the central importance of the oath to defend the Constitution that he took as an officer.   West tells the audience that everyone there needs to take that oath.

NOTE FROM STEWART RHODES:

It’s good to see that the importance of the oath is being discussed more and more, and now by candidates for office.  This is what all candidates should be saying -- placing the oath in its proper place as a sacred promise and pledging to keep it, and talking about the obvious central importance of following the Constitution, rather than just doing whatever they think is a good idea, which is what most “public servants” do (which usually also just happens to serve their own pet agenda or benefit them and their buddies).   I hope to see more public discussion of the oath and the importance of fidelity to that oath.

However, before you support any candidate for public office, here are some things to consider.

  1. Well said sir! Well said!

  2. I agree. It is very good to see candidates for public office talking about the importance of the oath to support and defend the Constitution. My hope is that they walk the talk once they get into office. I am PAST the point of disgust with candidates that LIE and break their promises once they become elected.
I am also very disapointed with voters that make uniformed choices at ballot box. I get sick and tired of hearing things like, ” I like him but I ain’t gonna vote for him, ’cause he don’t have a chance and I don’t wanna waste my vote” or ” I had to choose the lesser of the two evils”. I say, get informed and vote for the best candidate. If your candidate isn’t on the ballot, then write him in!

Vote with principle, don’t vote for someone just so you can brag later that you voted for the guy that won. If the winner is not for the Constitution then we are all the loosers and that isn’t something to brag on anyway.

  3. Welcome aboard, thank you for your service. And good luck with your future I am with you.

  4. I’m wondering how the MSM and the Washington elite will handle Col. West. A dynamic charismatic leader with morals, honor, and a sense of duty is something they’re not used to dealing with. Behold what a natural born leader with a sense of purpose, honor, and duty looks like. Go get them sir!

  5. I am with you 100% Lieutenant Colonel Allen West. At this point the only hope to save our great country is to have a critical mass of military (like Lt. West) who are willing to act on their oath to preserve and protect the Constitution. There are many of us citizen patriots across this great country that are ready to join the effort to save our country. The events in Honduras last serve as a sterling example of what must be done. My go bag is packed.

  6. I AGREE WITH THE LTC AND WITH THESE COMMENTS

  7. Personal Freedom for each individual and their rights to have their freedom from oppression is already established with The US Constitution, and most of all, those who have the right attitude with others to allow such freedom to exist. There will always be rogues in the darkness who will subvert and suppress those who do not pay attention to their rights, and so the effort to Become MoreAware is always a constant challenge to those who want to be the best they can. It is not enough that we have The US Constitution to defend us, but that each person honor the rights of others in a respectful manner. Leadership is a huge responsibility, and if taken for granted to mislead others, then each person should enact their own diligence and hold fast to their own honor and be the greatest of all examples of defending freedom and only those laws which entitle one to have such freedoms. Living has to be more than just any printed law, but a person must stand as their own light and honor those who also being their own light. Without honorable respect, then there becomes disrespect and treachery, and those who stand in the light must always Be MoreAware of those who chose their own darkness. There does not have to be any restrictive law for those who stand in the light and do not inflict themselves on the freedoms of others. It is up to each person to gain a Real Education beyond just the standards which have been created here. Each person is the light, and so they must stand and be that light without interfering with the light of those who shine brightly. Duane Heppner / The Great Writer / http://www.TheReturnOfTheReal.US

  8. What a breath of fresh air! As a retired U.S. Army officer and an educator, I applaud Lt. Col. Allen West. I will support him because he supports the Constitution and believes in the oath that we all swore to. Any way I can help, I stand ready to serve. My prayers are with you, Colonel West. Godspeed and good luck!!!

  9. I was so impressed with LTC West that I donated to his campaign from Texas! THAT is how to truly support qualified conservative candidates. God Bless you Sir!

  10. Where were you during the 800+ Bush signing statements, warrant-less surveillance, the Gonzales DOJ, Cheney declaring himself the fourth branch of government, the whole off-shore gulag/torture thing, why protests are suddenly a good thing now?

  11. I would follow him anytime.

  12. You Sir are what’s right with this country! Even after 20+ years of service, I would take my tired bones and follow you into battle any time!

We need more people like Lieutenant Colonel Allen West running our country! He is absolutely right that we need to take back our country!

God bless you and the very best of luck on your campaign (now let’s help him get elected!!)
