Thanksgiving Thoughts

By: Chauncey Normandin

To my Brothers and Sisters,

happy-thanksgivingToday let us all re-affirm our commitment to the restoration of our Republic. We need to restore integrity into public service. Our Police, Peace Officers, Firefighters, Military and many other like minded citizens are, for the most part, already there.  I feel we are in a unique point in history. Unlike the Founders we do not need to start by developing the documents to forge a nation. We do not need to shed blood as they did. They gave us the tools to work with in the belief we would never have to sacrifice on American soil again. We need to take what they and God have provided for us, timeless principles and values, and once again, align ourselves with true north. Their legacy, and ours as a Nation, depend on it. This, their experiment, must continue. We do not have to re-make this nation.

This Nation was founded on Judeo/Christian values. Our Founders knew  we would need to maintain these same values to continue. They have been allowed to slip away. We are all guilty to some extent. We can no longer allow this pattern to continue. We have the Responsibility to ensure the greatness that is America to our children and grand children. Inaction is the same as submission.

We need to promote their vision of self reliance, compassion and tolerance for one another. We are a free people of all races, creeds and religions. Natural rights, liberty, equality and religious freedom, their core values brought them ridicule. Continuing and promoting it is causing problems for us too. We scare those who should be scared. Our mission and goal is simple and pure. We purge who we have to purge to insure our integrity. We are one of the few organizations who are exactly who we say we are. We have and will continue to walk the walk and talk the talk.

Reach, teach and inspire. Restore our moral compass and pass our, the Founders, core values and moral code on to others. Teach them what true liberty means. We have to balance our rights with our responsibility, duty and obligations to each other. We, and those we align ourselves with, are the future of this nation.

Dave Freeman and I share a verse, and a medallion, with many friends. Allow me to write it here for you. It puts many things in perspective.

It is from Ephesians 6: 10-12.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power in His might.

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against principalities,

Against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

Against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Father, please help us restore the gift you have bestowed upon this land and We the People.

I sincerely hope each of you has a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

With great admiration and respect for all of you,

Chauncey

    Chauncey,
We are so blessed to have you as our brother in Oath Keepers. I knew we were kindred spirits the minute I met you, but what confirmed it beyond all doubt was when you gave me the “Armor of God” medallion. That has started a tradition of making sure that medallion is distributed to those that need, appreciate and revere it. I used to think I was living in a time warp, because I seemed better suited for the 18th/19th century. Now that I’ve been blessed with being a part of Oath Keepers, I realized that I’m actually in the right place at the right time: I’m home with my family!

    In Liberty and Fidelity,
    Dave
