I realize that the oath I swore, was swore before God and man

4th_infantry_divisionAs a 17 year old young man, I left home to join the Army. I was young and very wild in those days, and looking back on the experience, I would do many things differently now than I did them then. The oath I took upon entering the military, did not at the time, hit me with its importance. Now, many years later and having served in the National Guard and as a Law Enforcement Officer as well, I realize that the oath I swore, was swore before God and man. That oath, of defending the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I have learned through the years just what that means and how truly important it is, and I have reaffirmed that oath within my heart before God.

I now have my oldest son and my daughter, both serving in the US Air Force at this writing, having swore that same oath themselves. My son is in the USAF Security Forces, my daughter in Aerospace Control & Warning Systems. My youngest son now talks about when he can serve his nation.

Given my mistakes and early, but honorable, departure from active duty, I could not be more proud that my children are making their way, the right way, through the military.

I currently work as a morning show host on the radio and will support this organization and the principles of it with the best of my ability. God Bless the Oath Keepers and God bless America!

    Tony,
Thanks for your service. I was Combat Security USAF 67-71, peace officer 72-82. Disability retired now. Intend to join ASAP. Let no one who served forget that when they took that oath that there was no expiration date on it. It is still in force, no matter when you served.
