Active LEO Will Not Violate The Oath

American-FlagI am a Pennsylvania LEO and a U.S. Army veteran who, at the age of 19, took an oath to defend the Constitution. It was probably the most serious moment of my entire life and impressed me so much that I can recite the complete oath from memory 20 years later! It was the first in a string of pledges but it’s importance has never diminished.

We all run into jerks who think they’re more important than the letter of the law – it happens on a regular basis in law enforcement. Give a guy some power and he wants more. You know the kind.

During the past year I have consulted with friends and even a few lawyers, and the consensus is that I have not been relieved of the burden placed on me by my first oath. Joining Oath Keepers is an option for all of us who have taken the oath, but disregarding our word of honor is NOT an option.

When the chips are down and I have to face the moment of truth I intend to do it with my head held high! I will not violate my pledge to my country! In 10 years or so I’ll just be another retired cop but I intend to be an honorable man at all costs, protect my neighbors and their rights as I promised, and to be an Oath Keeper at heart – not just in word.

There isn’t any “half-way” – you’re either “all in” or just watching from the sidelines.

    I agree wholeheartedly!

I’m a peace officer in Ohio, so I know what it means for you to remain faithful to your Oath while still on the job.

For us, this ain’t just “political theory”, is it. It’s waaaaay practical (our careers are on the line, eh?).

    And you’re absolutely right…

It really all boils down to ‘honor’.

Either we are honorable men and women, or we’re not.

Welcome to Oath Keepers. I stand with you.

Welcome to Oath Keepers. I am retired LE and military. We took the oath and still stand by it. I retired because of politics. I still to this day honor the Oath.

One reason I choose to support our uniformed men and women is because of people like you. And I have smoked mass amounts of pot in my life and done other , harder drugs. After 7 or 8 maybe ten or more years clean from all drugs I have gone from government is the bad guy to the apples that are rotted in government need to be thrown away.

Every police chief I have met and one of them while I was high on acid were good level headed guys. Knowing there are an increasing number of LEO’s respecting their oaths makes law respectable and noble in my opinion.

And something every American should stand behind.
