“Here Is One More Pledge”

sp5In 1972 I received my greetings to help Uncle Sam out.  It was not exactly what I really wanted to do at the time and the attitude in the country at the time about Vietnam and soldiers in general didn’t help things.  However, I was chosen.  My country requested my help and while I never considered it an honor it was my job to do my part for this country.  I made no attempt to “get out of it”, but enlisted for an extra year to get some schooling out of the deal.

Here it is almost 40 years later and I am sick of the path the country is going. (No it is not just the present occupant of the White House that has me feeling that way.)  So here I am again, renewing the oath I took back in 1972.

I thought long and hard about joining this organization.  Not because I have problems with the oath to defend the constitution, not because I have a problem with the 10 orders to not be obeyed.  Mostly I had problems, because it is not my butt on the line now so who am I to say I will not obey an order that I will probably not be given. So… here is one more pledge.

I pledge to do whatever I can do to support any peace officer or military person that refuses any of the 10 orders or any other illegal order and finds himself or herself in a bind for doing so.

Please donate and support Oath Keepers mission, every little bit helps!

Thank you for your service, regardless of the how or the why. I stand with you and your pledge, since I am no longer in law enforcement and therefore will never have the opportunity to refuse any of the ten orders.

You pointed something out that I hadn’t thought about. Now I’m retired too and probably will never be ordered to do one of the ten but I sure can support anyone else who is in that position. Thanks for that! Glad you’re here and thank you for your service!

    Well…

I AM still an active duty peace officer, and I gotta say that I really DO appreciate your support for us.

I also wanted to thank you for your military service (I’m a former Marine and National Guardsman).

It’s good to know that we don’t stand alone in our promise to keep our Oath.

    Welcome to Oath Keepers !

I have never served in the military. But I am alarmed at the direction this country is headed in. I will take the oath to defend the constitution and do my best to do so.
