Chris Matthews just exposed himself for what he is and what he believes while commenting on the President’s address to the troops at West Point. He referred to the venue as “enemy territory!” Can you believe it? He considers the military, the people that protect him and his rights, the people who fight and die for his right to free speech and free living as “enemies”. It makes it extremely clear that our imaginations are not running wild, that we are not right wing nuts that are overreacting, and our suspicions have been confirmed ten-fold. Can you imagine an American citizen that worked for a past President, that has prospered in our free, democratic, and Capitalist society calling the military “the enemy”? Wow! From this point forward, Chris Matthews or his ilk will never be able to undermine this organization. He just validated why we exist in the first place.

Did anyone notice Matthews excluded the MAIN reasons Oathkeepers exists? I think he’s already proven himself to be a media whore for Obama… he said it was his “job” to make sure this Administration succeeds. Why are we even debating this? I, for one, would suggest that we don’t indulge these media outlets in opportunities to do anything of the sort. I could make Jesus Christ look like a nut if I followed the Matthews formula for interviewing adversaries. Why bother? Their audiences are tiny and filled with left wing nutballs. If they want an interview in the future, let them come to us while we dictate the terms. Other than that, let them view and/or comment from afar. I’m an Oathkeeper, I’m fairly intelligent, pragmatic, sensible, have an abundance of common sense, have been a cop for 34 years, have been decorated and commended, been attacked and injured in the line of duty, and what Oathkeepers stands for is so obvious, so right, so “normal” to those of us that have lived a life of protecting the public and their rights that I’m of the opinion that we should just BE what we are, STAND TALL in our beliefs, apologize for NOTHING, and accept that there are going to be people that will object regardless. So what? We’re used to that. We deal with that every day. We can handle it. This is the ONE organization comprised of soldiers and police, veterans, and retired police, firefighters, and citizens that “get it”. Guts and commitment to to do what is right is not lacking nor should our motives for being members be questioned. I for one, could care less. I know what I’m going to do and I’m confident that the rest of the members will do the same. There’s no “defeat”, nor is there a “negative” interview that might affect the organization. You’re either in or you’re not. Those of us that are in are committed regardless because we know what we have to do and what is right. We really don’t need “spokespersons” to justify our existence, we don’t need “positive press”, and we don’t need affirmation from others (although it’s nice to hear occasionally.) We’re here to stay during these difficult and trying times. Nothing will deter us and we’ve seen so much, been through so much, experienced so much adversity, faced enemies far more lethal that we really don’t give a rat’s ass about the main stream media. Oathkeepers is here to stay, not because of interviews or speeches, but because of the premise upon which it is based and the fact there are many citizens that adhere to it.

Despite what “some” of the media try to do to instill the ideas that OK is a “radical, violent group of gun toting fanatics” I think that particularly with Matthews’ showing of his ignorance, it will only serve to inspire curiousity in people who will in turn visit the website, where they can be better informed as to what Oath Keepers is all about. I am proud to be an Oath Keeper, proud to be an American, and proud to defend the Constitution.

I watched about 50% of his attack on Mr Rhodes and couldn’t bear to keep watching the idiot. I am a South African but follow world news closely. I have read the declaration of independence and to be honest some of the reasons stated for the independence is currently what is happening in your country at this very moment. I extracted some quotes for you to decide for yourself.
