Media discovering Oath Keepers

We’ve talked about Oath Keepers many times here on Gun Rights Examiner. Now the “mainstream media” is starting to take notice of them. And some are taking their cues from fabricated and hysterical Southern Poverty Law Center cries of “Witch!“…I mean “Hate group!”
Part two excerpt:
I’d be remiss in not crediting WorldNetDaily as being the first big media outlet to recognize and accurately report on Oath Keepers, as well as to follow up on the manufactured hysteria. I also think they’ll forgive me if I don’t characterize them as “mainstream.”
The current media interest has been sparked by a Las Vegas Review Journal story. The headline contributes to the hysteria:
READY TO REVOLT: Oath Keepers pledges to prevent dictatorship in United States
The subhead contradicts the violent implication:
Group asks police and military to lay down arms in response to orders deemed unlawful
Reporter Alan Maimon does present both sides, recognizing “middle ground of opinion is hard to find.” Comments to the story reflect this, and those coming out against Oath Keepers seem to base their entire argument on name-calling, ignorance of what the group stands for, and a predisposition to offer uninformed and opinions as obnoxiously as possible. Left unsaid is what orders these apologists for the state think should be obeyed without question, and whether the judgment at Nuremberg that “only following orders” is no excuse still applies.
With the publishing of the LVJR article, other “big names” are noticing. Glenn Beck told his radio audience about Oath Keepers on his October 19 Premiere Radio Network program, observing this about SPLC fear and hate-mongering when they called the group “A particularly worrisome example of the Patriot revival.”:
Boy, what would our Founding Fathers say? Just on that sentence? …The people saying the government is getting too big and too out of control–all they want to do is make sure you keep your oath to the Constitution of the United States.
Yeah, read the LVRJ article. For a hit piece it wasn’t all bed.
Brothers and Sisters, please keep in mind that it is the MSM intention to foment rage and to dissemble whenever and where ever possible.
We are the trained ones. We are the ones who have sworn the Oath, not the likes of these snakes.

In all honesty, I think that we should consider the possibility that the Secret Court is OKAYING actions by Homeland Security against particularly effective Patriots even in Propaganda matters, based on the fact that at least one of the 2 major political parties requests it. This would include keeping Oath Keepers out of most large News Media (I call them the News Mafia now).

I think the articles are great! Not for their content but for the fact that their was a need to write them. Had whomever holds the reins thought of OK a 24 hr virus or passing cold, no mentions to discredit would be nessesary. They are reacting. I hope that made sense.
Sean Hannity was recently on Fox and Maddow’s show. His observations after both experiences are enlightening and telling. On Fox, even with Juan Williams who he often disagrees with, they stayed on topic, their comments were relevant and aimed at the topic at hand.
On Maddow’s show, she personally attacked him and did not stay on topic, could not seem to bring anything relevant or factual into the discussion, and showed no desire to do so.
It is the Left’s “greatest” weapon…attack what we do not like or understand with viciousness and name-calling. And when that fails, haul out the race card. It’s why we are gaining in the hearts and minds of the American people when we stick to the facts, stay on point in discussion, and do not sink to their level of personal, disengenuis attacks.
SO THANK YOU MSM(or perhaps Not-so-MSM since Fox has better ratings and higher viewership) for turning your spotlight on OathKeepers and making people aware of our presence. The Publics questions give us the opening to address the misconceptions and invite more Patriots to join our ranks!
Confused, I thought that all soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen and women were required by the UCMJ to disobey all unlawful orders by law. If so, why is there a need to have an organization to support this. It implies that servicemen and women will not do their duty to follow only lawful orders.
Rob, yes, soldiers have a duty to disobey unlawful orders. However, what those are is left very vague, if even mentioned. We are here to reaffirm our Oaths and support of the Constitution, and to educate our brothers and sisters as to what that truly means. If this seems confusing still, please read the Constitution and Sheriff Mack’s book.

I think Maimon was overwhelmed by the response to his article and rightly so. He’s writing another about the convention and it sounds like fair treatment is intended.
You know that it is a small percentage right now and hopefully growing that will be on the side of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. It will be like our founding fathers opposing the British all over again! The 2nd Revolutionary War is about to begin. All it will take is a false flag event or financial colapse or something else that will force martial law upon us. When it happens, it will be the bloodiest War to ever be fought on this Earth. The American Patriot will not give up til dead and the brain dead globalist army will fight like a dumb animal til dead. Unfortuantely, most of those brain dead globalist soldiers will be former US citizens. The day they shoot at their first Patriot defending the US Constitution makes them enemy of the United States Of America. As soon as the first soldier shoots at a Patriot defending the US Constitution, Every officer and government official supporting that shot is enemy of the United States of America. They may have already shot that first shot or supported that first shot and they may already be guilty of treason. When that war starts, then it will be official, the now US Government will no longer be the US Government. They will be the Globalist Government and the real US Government will be those defending the US Constitution. It will not only be a Revolutionary War but also a Civil War all in one. Every US Citizen right now needs to make a decision. Are you a US Citizen or a Global Citizen of the United Nations? You need to pick a side, for there will be no in between.
Disobeying orders lawful or other is never an easy task. How many times have you heard of a patrol leader, platoon sargent or other command a soldier to run through fire and have the soldiar say “heck no”. They just react. Most soldiars today are probably as they have been for years, younger adults with big hearts and true conviction.
Getting noticed on Mainstream Media means more chances for OK websites to infiltrated to by those who would sway others from joining or keeping commitments. Stay alert, the enemy is in the perimiter. Dont lose your faith nor get distracted.
Oath Keepers is being hurt badly by racists inside our ranks. If you read the comments under Pat Buchanans artical you will see that there are some individuals with very racists views. We must not allow this. This is the type of rhetoric that the liberal media will jump on and ruin our reputation. The board of directors must address this ASAP. It will kill us.
I agree totally with anonymous #10 with regards to some of the comments. The entire premise upon which we are based necessitates that we remain religion neutral, ideology neutral, color neutral, and just follow our Constitution and respect and defend our rights as American citizens regardless of any delineation. Of all organizations THIS ONE is predominantly made up of cops and soldiers. We haven’t, shouldn’t, and don’t give a shit about what color you are, what gender you are, what religion in which you believe, even what your sexual preference is because our lives and safety depend on each other every day. We’ve already moved so far beyond that crap that we lead the way for the rest of the nation so that can learn that we can all get along in a nation of laws and not individuals with certain beliefs.Our enemies are not each other, our enemies are the people in power trying to take away our Constitutional Republic and our way of life. Our “fight” will be to “stand down” when those same people try to use us for nefarious and un-constitutional actions and to stand tall when they try to do it and rally those around us who are looking for leaders to show them what is right. Our “enemies” will come in all colors, shapes, and sizes. They will all assume we will promote what they are trying to do but will surprised to find out there are those of us that won’t do it and will confront them forthwith when it happens. We are an organization that actually realizes that this is a real possibility and not something else and we should be prepared to respond to it in the shadow of what happened during Katrina and a few other incidents. Soldiers and cops are honorable and courageous by nature, they follow orders, and this organization is made up of soldiers and officers that are leaders and will step in when others need us to do so to change the momentum of the moment and correct the situation. We don’t want to draw lines in the sand nor do we want to be boxed in as far as acceptable religions, colors, ideologies, or anything else. We’re all Americans.The most prominent Constitutional defenders and the bravest citizens that have to overcome obstactles simply because of what they believe are Jewish people (Mark Levin for example),black conservatives, gay conservatives, women that don’t “buy in”, and others. Let’s not dishonor them, insult them, or give them reason to pause in their support for us simply because we’re pissed off and we feel the need to take out our frustrations on some group of individuals. As a white Christian heterosexual male I would ask that we back off a little bit from the understandable anger we all feel,regroup,and do our duty. When we are thrust into a situation where we have to stand tall and do the right thing and we have to be prepared to do it. That means NO American citizen is fair game to Government oppression simply because we don’t like them or believe what they believe. That would make us no better than those people trying to take away our rights. It makes us worse, in my opinion, because we are in a position to do something about it and have a duty and obligation to those EXACT people with which we may not agree. That’s exactly how it will happen and will be the exact scenario in which those oppressors will expect there will be no opposition. WE are the last line of defense for THEM, we can’t let their rights be taken from them simply because we disagree with them or we will be nothing more than a bunch of Nazi’s protecting several groups of individuals while we stand by and watch the rights of the Jewish people being stripped from them during WWII in Germany. We’re better than that.

defaming people that have done no wrong. Are you following the Bush tactic of preemptive strikes? These groups aren’t anti-government as you claim; they support the Constitution and our rights. Since the ADL opposes these groups, is it safe to assume you oppose the Constitution as well? Also, to clear another thing up, this is not about Obama as you push in your article. Our liberties have been heavily under attack for almost 9 years now. Obama was supposed to bring change, yet he kept or expanded on Bush’s terrible policies. Its not about any one man, it’s about all of the ones that ignore the Constitution.

A critical moment in history, concerning the Freedom for Christian Americans is approaching fast. This president is a clandestine muslim and he is beginning his first stages of desperation as many of his voters are wising up. He is rapidly losing supporters and he is likely to implement strategies to drastically undermine our bill of rights soon. The Oath Keepers may have been born at just the right moment. Remember, if the “southern poverty law center” is alarmed by it, then it’s a good organization for freedom including white rights.
