Former LEO, Upset With The Current State We Are In

flag-eagleIn 1979 I took my first oath when I joined the Marine Corp. I again took that oath as a new police officer in 1982. Shortly there after I joined a Guard Unit and enjoyed several years as a FIST team leader.

I must confess that the longer I worked in law enforcement the more I saw that there was a vast difference between right and wrong, and legal and illegal. I quit law enforcement in 1989 because of those differences. I am proud of the good law enforcement that takes place today, and I’m angered when I see officers abusing authority. I would rather see officers protecting and serving rather than “ENFORCING” what I believe are intrusive and oppressive laws.

I’m here to do what ever I can help protect this country and my family from being subjected to oppression and the impending and upcoming tyranny that our government intends to impose on us.

When this government and the people we voted into office can look you in the eye and lie to us like we are all witnessing right now,I have a problem with that and there by they are going to have a problem with getting me to cooperate with their agenda. I am ready to serve again.

    Mike,
Thanks for your service. Thenk you for becoming an Oath Keeper. I agree with all you say. Unfortunately, LEOs are left with the S end of the stick when all these unnecessary laws are piled on our society. We need to guide our government back within it’s constitutional bounds. We cannot leave it to the “next” generation.

Mike, thank you for your service and your testimonial. It’s an honor to have any man stand for the Constitution and the Republic for which he took the Oath to support and defend.
Like Sheriff Mack said; if everyone did just that, keep their Oath, we would have our Constitutional Republic back tomorrow.

    In Freedom Sir !

Welcome, Mike, and thank you for your service.
I went 30 years as a police officer, and was fortunate to be in a largely “pro-citizen” (pro-Constitution) agency.

We must work to reconcile the People with their most faithful servants, the military and the local “cops”. We had to be the strict ones for the good of the citizens, and a very few were actual crooks or abusers. And some of our brothers can’t or won’t see the difference between ‘taking a gun from a crook’ and “disarming the American People” – not yet.
But, who moves TOWARD the sound of the guns? Into the burning building? Hunkers all night in unfriendly countries? Not even sworn, but saying, “let’s roll”?
The OathKeepers. The warriors of a peaceful society. In my humble opinion, it gives would-be usurpers pause to know one thing: We WILL NOT be tools used to subjugate the People, and we stand ready (praying that it is never necessary) to ensure that it DOES NOT happen; NOT ON OUR WATCH.

    Mike,

Coming from the military I never gave much thought to the conflict of the mind a LEO must go through. My hat is off to you for having the courage to not only serve in the Corps but also make that life changing decision. I’m proud to have you with us. The mission has only just begun.

    Hi Mike,

I want you to know that I really enjoyed reading your testimonial.

I find myself wondering about your LEO experiences…
    geography, time frame, etc.

I would never want to pry into your life.

It’s just that I have witnessed certain geographical areas around the West US becoming quite militarized as far as a civilian police force is concerned.

Better equipped than some foreign armies I’d say.

Certainly a far cry from the Sheriffs that used to show up with their dive equipment at my Grandparents resort at Detroit Lake in Oregon (cir,1965).
They would come by our request to recover equipment, and of course stay for lunch.

These were my first and most lasting impressions of LEOs

Times they do a change, don’t they.

My last encounter with a LEO was right here on my property in June of this year.

    To put this into contextual imagery for you;
I live in the middle of the Tahoe National forest, 87.5 miles as the crow flies NNW from the center of Sacramento,Ca.: but it would take a person about five hours of driving to get to my front gate.

Living out this far, a person just develops an intuition about “visitors”.

I had a Sheriff’s Deputy drive down from my locked upper gate (1.5 miles/shared access/4×4 rd.), to my lower gate, and by the time I was able to get up to the lower gate to meet him (3min) he was already dressed in body armor, and sporting a locked and loaded AR15.

Looking back on this I was actually a bit shocked that I really didn’t find this too out of the ordinary for my neighborhood!

And yes, I did say locked and loaded.

At the time I wasn’t even all that cognizant of his weapon.
We all carry guns out here.

Myself because I mine for gold on my 120 aces of private property. That’s not a boast… it’s a lot of very hard work that I preform myself, and after five years of this, I am just now starting to turn a profit.

Let’s just say that I refuse to commute for work.

I would give a big rah rah here for gold prices, but it is actually NOT moving that high against other currencies.
Instead the bottom is dropping out from under the US dollar.
Just another Constitutional dilemma, created by the fools and criminally negligent zombies in Washington D.C.

We need our own bank that we can borrow from each other through, and thereby share the wealth.

The real reason that we are all “packin” out here has to do with the “neighbors”.

MS13 mafia, Asian mafia, plus assorted other illegal pot growers, meth lab tweekers, and criminal types that are mostly non-violent wimps who are scared to death of their own shadow. Yet still packing heat.

    Back to the sheriff…

I really don’t mind that he came down basically through 25 no trespassing signs, one half mile of private road, and two locked gates.

So, after a cordial conversation, and his insistence that he thought he was somewhere other than were he was at, I pointed out the road that he said he was looking for.
Which was directly across the canyon from my house.

And after telling him that he had better trade in his Dodge Durango in for an ATV if he hopes to get down to the river and back out…
he said, “well I just wanted to meet you”, and he left.

I suppose that could have meant that he was just interested in making contact with the only sane person living in the vicinity.

But I think that the “high country” sheriff, was just on a “fishing trip”…
only he left his pole at home and brought is “assault (GOD I hate that term as an ex Gunner’s Mate Tech) rifle” instead.

As an officer who’s duty it is (even before the unPatriot Act was passed)to enforce game laws, he knows very well that hunters must respect private property rights.
That people should carry a map and know where they are.

I learned that at age 11 in Hunters Safety Course.

Practice what you preach… no probable cause for entry.

I’m just glad that the Officer, I believe had good intentions.

If my family had been down here and seen him locked and loaded, they would have freaked out.

I felt that it might not go over so well at this first meeting to tell him to drop the .223, and get a .308 Socom (that Gunner’s Mate coming out in me again), although he probably wouldn’t be questioned much if he asked straight out for an M4…
Like I said, I live in a tough neighborhood.

The only part of this whole episode that really upset me, was that on his way out of the top gate, the “high country” sheriff neglected to “double lock” the lock.
He locked me in, and I had to blast (single jack and a large drift) the lock off.

I’ve spent more than $100 on locks for that one gate this year!
