All I can say to that is Hooah! Thank you for your service, K7C, and for stepping up. Give our best regards to your brothers in arms, and let them know we have your six back home. If any of you need anything at all, from socks to helmets, to body armor, just ask and it will be provided. We need you to stay safe and come home healthy.
Oath Keepers here stateside, let your brothers on active duty in Iraq know how you feel. They do come here to read comments, count on that.
Note that the tab in the photo is not the same tab we sell here on our site (which is more of a police style tab). We are having military ACU style tabs with velcro made up, but they are not yet finished. That means the troops are having their own Oath Keeper tabs made up! And no, we did not put them up to it. They are doing this on their own initiative.
So take heart! The message of the oath and its obligations is spreading, and the Guardians of the Republic are listening and responding. And every time you act to spread the message, by whatever means, you cannot know what impact you will have, or how far it will reach. That’s why it’s so crucial that we each do what we can to reach, teach, and inspire as many active duty as possible about their obligation to defend the Constitution and their duty to refuse unlawful orders that would violate the rights of their fellow Americans.
Upcoming Outreach Effort to Put Tabs, DVD’s, and OK Handbooks in the Hands of Active Duty
Coincidentally, the tabs those troops are wearing are almost exactly like the tabs we are having made for our upcoming care package initiative, which will put an Oath Keeper tab, DVD, Oath Keepers handbook, copy of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and other outreach materials, into the hands of active duty deployed worldwide. We plan on launching that effort on Veteran’s Day, November 11 and continuing right on through Bill of Rights Day, December 15, with the goal of delivering all the care packages by Christmas. Now imagine what that will be like! Tens of thousands of our troops reached with the message and a tab. I will post more details very soon.
What’s a Three Percenter?
Now, seeing the other tab and patch in the photo, you may ask “what is a three percenter?” The narrowest definition is that three percenters are hard-line gun owners who are done backing up and will not comply with more infringements of their right to bear arms. A broader definition would be that they are hard-line Americans who are done backing up and will not comply with further infringement of any of their rights. It also alludes to the three percent of the colonists who took to the field against the King during the Revolution, and the estimation that at least three percent of modern Americans will actively fight, if it comes to it, to preserve liberty. Oath Keepers and Three Percenters are separate groups, but it is not a surprise to see people who consider themselves both an Oath Keeper and a Three Percenter. If you read the supplied links you will see why.
While we Oath Keepers have a specialized mission of outreach to current serving, focused on the oath and on refusing to obey unlawful orders, there’s lots of common ground and shared commitment to the Republic among both groups. Go here to read what the Sipsey Street blog has to say about that.

Each group has a philosophy that appeals to a certain type of individual. The type that values honor, integrity and liberty.
Oath Keepers’ mission is focused on saving the Republic by education and passive refusal to obey unconstitutional orders. The Threepers are prepared to provide the credible “or else” if the government deploys armed agencies against the citizens.
“Please” is always more effective if there is a “Damn it!” waiting in plain view.

There are always custom sewing shops outside of military bases, and in the sandbox they”re there too. so If you live close to a military base you can go to a local sewing shop and have them made…likely what these guys in Iraq did.
I am planning on visiting my local shop soon as well. I didn’t even think of this until I saw this post about the threepers and oathkeepers in Iraq…lol.
As a citizen, non-military background, I want to thank all the men and women around the globe that are paying for my freedom. It was handed to me, I do not take for granted that it is a gift that somebody else purchased and gave to me without me asking for it and expecting nothing in return.

It’s so sad that not only do our troops have to fight for our freedom in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, it looks like it’s going to come down to fighting for our freedom in our own country. I belone to a group called the Sooner Tea Party in Oklahoma City, OK. Randy Brogdon is a senator running for governor in our State. As he says, there are a lot more of us than there are of them. Please know we will stand behind you in any way possible and are fighting the battle in our state legislature as well as at the Federal level to the best of our ability. I am 62 years old and rode 52 hours round-trip on the bus to go to the 9/12 rally in Washington. I’d do it again in a hearbeat.
I am sure they are sick and tired of guarding oil pipelines and the future site of more oil pipelines. Bring them home Obama! I can’t believe they gave that prick the Nobel Peace Price. Maybe they will give Bush the Medal of Honor for his treason. We need to get our damn country back!

I look at the casualty list every morning and I pray for them by name. We should all be a voice for the voiceless. If they speak against The O or his congressional cronies, they will be prosecuted under article 88 and given an article 15.

It’s a comfort to know that some of those in the military still believe in and support the Constitution. However, there are a few things to consider thatI find somewhat disturbing:
There are a number of recruits now serving in that part of the world who have past crimminal records. Some for serious crimes as assault and even sexual assaults, burglury, and some are members of notorious street gangs and skinhead groups. What do we do with these? They will be returning to their neighborhoods and bringing with them the knowledge and experience to commit even worse crimes. Can we expect them to even care about the Constitution as we do?
Another thing is the still persistant idea the U.S. military is in Afganistan and Iraq protecting our freedom. Nothinbg could be further from the truth. Our military is being used by the zionist crimminals in Isreahell for their own purposes! Our sons, daughters, husbands and wives are being killed and even murdered for the sake of zionist expasionism. The suspicion that the mossad has been involved in some of the IUD bombings as well as snipers is making its way throughout the internet. This must be investigated completely.
We are in a trap, partially of our own doing and unless we extricate ourselves and become educated to where we can prevent these traps, we will continue to drawn into another conflagration. It may become the prelude to the end of our nation.
Please don’t forget the lessons of history as one nation state after another rose and fell on its own lust for power and wealth. we would do well do heed those lessons before our nation joins the others in the dustbin of history.

John Abrams, Bob, and others like them will probably never appreciate what has been given to them by no effort on their part, but by the blood and pain of better men and women. I pray the Creator will touch their hearts, heal their bitterness, and that they will come to respect those who are willing to lay down their lives for them.
I was very moved by the picture of the tab and words of that fine troop. I don’t often shed tears, but was overcome by love and gratitude to this man and our troops and unashamedly wept. It is very inspiring to see active duty Soldiers with the courage to openly state their intention to defend the Constitution against ALL enemies. The REAL fighting men and women seem to understand their oath much better than many of their top commanders who are allowing themselves to be muzzled by obama and cates, apparently setting the oath they also took on the back burner and putting their careers ahead of publicly speaking the full truth.

The way I see it, even accepting posting to Iraq violates the oath. The invasion of Iraq was a violation of the Constitution, and the Tenth Amendment clearly states that the Federal Government has no authority whatsoever to occupy or maintain bases or troops in another country.
I also see that troops are stuck. That’s why, we at the Sea Lions Foundation, are moving forward into true independence for as many as have the guts to lay hold of it. There’s no longer a reason to take the attitude, “Well, there are serious problems with America, and even if we take it back we will still have huge problems, but right now, it’s all we’ve got.”

C. Cope, you make some very valid observations, however they will probably not be “amusing” to many who will read them. When many of us state we will ‘defend the Constitution’ I believe we are referring to restoring the principles of government originally set forth by those very astute men who wrote it. We cannot deny that those principles have been steadily encroached upon and nearly destroyed, especially over the last century and that process is now being greatly accelerated on a daily basis and on many fronts. Nor can it be denied that the government in general has become so invasive and powerful that those in control, both the visible and invisible, no longer listen to the governed. Marching in the streets carrying signs of protest will not seriously affect the thrust of the agendas of those whose ultimate goal is to totally subjugate the people of the world. Nor will passive resistance stop them in their tracks or make them reverse the course they have set. We have descended to the point where the overhanging threats of using ‘power, force, violence and death’ will too soon be turned into actuality when it is perceived that too many of the sheep are waking up to what is happening and start to stand up on their hind legs. Though I am proud to hear that these brave men and women will refuse to do things that are against the Constitutional Principles we all love, my question turns to… What WILL you do? In Afghanistan, for example, will you start burning the poppy fields? In Irag, will you go on strike as a group to protest the illegality of that war? I’m not asking you to put yourself in front of a bullet, but, since you are getting shot at anyways, why not make a difference? Refuse to kill them… if an Officer says ‘blah’… turn to them and say ‘NO SIR’. When is the time we come to the understanding that the mideast wars are ‘aggressive wars’ and not founded in defense of freedom? As an aside… wouldn’t it be better to be discharged dishonorable than to have the blood of innocents on your (and mine, by proxy) hands??

Well, that pic certainly caught everyone’s attention, perhaps because people are wondering where the military’s loyalty lies. Undoubtedly there are many officers who could care less about the Constitution and the principles and traditions that make this county what it is, and many of the younger enlisted men, like I was in Vietnam, are effectively too ignorant of the issues to really know what is going on. However, it is very encouraging to find that the top officer in Afghanistan is making an issue of getting the men he needs to do the job. If Westmoreland had threatened to resign, and in fact had done so, when his request to extend the DMZ to the Mekong was rebuffed by that buffoon Johnson then perhaps the DMZ would have been extended in the face of ‘World’ opposition, and fifty thousand lives might have been spared and a war won.
I’ve always been an advocate of a draft for the simple reason that no military coup can be attempted, much less alone succeed when draftees make up any significant portion of the military. A ‘professional’ army tends to subvert loyalties from the country to the military in as much that those that commit to a ‘career’ in the military and not civilian life must be those who are willing to conform for the rest of their working life and therefore become ‘dependents’ on the military in a way no draftee or single enlistment individual ever does. Without draftees or Constitutional State Militias the last bright spark we have are the State National Guard and Reserve units who are made up of everyday working men and women whose vested interested lay not with the military but with their homes, jobs, and loved ones. Some day National Guard units need to be converted to Constitutional State Militias and we will be that much better off.
I can understand some of the frustration with the Oath Keepers being primarily a passive organization; however, it has its place and vocal criticism is misplaced. By taking the stance it does it is free to extend its membership and influence within the police and military communities it is primarily aimed at. If it advocated violent action it would soon be on government banned lists, members would be either neutralized or ejected from the police, military, and other governmental services making an already bad situation that much worse.
The exercise of the People’s Natural Rights, as guaranteed in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, through force of arms is a step that should be planned and prepared for. However, the likes of those in control of our Federal Government now are a bunch of gutless bastards and it will only take one Federal judge with the balls to stand on his two feet and rule on the eligibility issue to bring them down. That will only be a start as the People really need to overhaul the political process in this county, primarily to require and ensure Accountability. But first off, I’d suggest that people educate themselves on what is going on in the courts and get involved. This strikes me as a bit odd. Are active members of the military allowed to wear whatever patches they wish on their uniforms? I would think military rules for uniforms wouldn’t allow this so am guessing this was a quick photo op and the patches came off after the pic was taken.
I think the concept of Oath Keepers and 3%ers is awesome. I also think that making statements that are only backed up by the pic of a left shoulder is overreaching.

But due to health reasons as well as some stupid decisions on my part, I never got to go to basic training or have the Navy career that I had always dreamed of growing up. And now, with a family, a degenerating spine and post-brain tumor, my chances of ever having that career is zero. But I still took the Oath back then, and still consider it valid in my life, even if I never did or ever will get to serve like those whom I respect and admire, and to a point envy. Can I still qualify as an Oathkeeper even if I never got to serve though I did take the Oath back in 1996, one of the proudest days of my life and the biggest dissapointment that I was unable to serve fully. Where do I stand?

I think this will end up going Global. It needs to go Global, just like the 2nd Amendment should have had a priority position, in the UN UDHR. That it didn’t, says it all, imho. The 2nd doesn’t create a Right to Keep and Bear Arms, it RECOGNISES it as a Universal and Unalienable Human Right (which is what it is, because without it, the other unalienable Human Right, the Right to Self Defence, is denied. Because if you deny the means, you deny the Right).

I was sent this info from an active duty army member who is currently stationed in Iraq. The soldier and I have been friends for over a decade and I will do whatever it takes to help him and anyone else in the military who are making the right choices for the American people. Keep it up, with these members of this commitee it gives me hope that I am not alone in what i belive from much research is going on and happening now. HOO RAA!!!!!!

Ok, this is for all the people that question the legitimacy of this photo. I can’t believe I have to even argue this with anybody or that anybody could even possibly question whether or not this is a real photo. It’s not a flying saucer people. I am just going to make a few key points out just from this photo and you can decide what to think. Any soldier that is in or has been in Iraq or Afghanistan will know what I am talking about before I even need to say anything.
Key Note #1:
Argument: The photo wasn’t taken in Iraq.
Fact: Iraq is a very rainy place. Iraq is a very dirty place (literally). Dirt plus rain equals mud. In the living areas on the camps and FOBs these rocks are spread all over the ground to keep mud from tracking all over the place. It also acts as a foundation for the cans (living quarters. Nobody likes tracking mud everywhere and walking to the shower in flip flops in the mud is no fun. Also, the structures you see in the background are the so-called “cans” I speak of. Once again, these are little conex-like living areas for 1 or 2 people.
Key Note #2:
Argument: His uniform is too clean to be in Iraq.
Fact: Believe it or not, but there are actual laundry facilities run by contractors in Iraq. They wash your uniforms really well, too. Also, I had about 12 brand new uniforms in Iraq that I never wore (I stuck with my DCUs till the end). Most of the soldiers in my unit had nice clean pairs they wore around the FOB and then they had uniforms they used when we were on mission or working on HMMWVs in the motor pool. A common misconception about Iraq is that just walking outside for even a moment will land you in some sort of dust storm of Biblical proportions. This is not true. There is a huge difference in landscape from Southern Iraq to Northern Iraq. Believe it or not there are actually trees in Iraq. One more thing about the uniform. Not all soldiers are combat soldiers. There are paper pushers in Iraq that have yet to get any dirt on their boots.
Key Note #3:
Argument: That soldier is putting the “Three Percent” flag in place of the American flag.
Fact: The American Flag goes on the right shoulder, not the left. The left side is reserved for Unit patches and tabs.
Key Note #4:
Argument: That soldier would face court martial for being out of uniform.
Fact: No soldier would face court martial for being out of uniform…unless they were walking around naked. Then…well who knows. There is a difference between uniform regulations in garrison and uniform regulations in a theater of operations. No respectable NCO/Officer would punish or even order a soldier to remove a tab that says “Oath Keeper”. Maybe if it said “Oath Breaker” they would, but making a statement that you will keep and defend your oath to the Constitution….not likely you’re going to be thrown to the wolves. I had seen soldiers wearing all sorts of tabs and patches in Iraq, especially since uniforms use velcro patches now. The command didn’t care because they had more important things to worry about. As long as it is in good taste it will be overlooked by most. And even if he only put the tab on for a photo shot then took it off, who cares? What is important is that this soldier is aware. If he is aware then chances are he isn’t alone.

Argument: He isn’t really a soldier. Where is his armor and weapon?
Fact: On a FOB (most anyway), you aren’t required to walk around with IBAS (body armor) on. In his case it looks like he is wearing armor, just not full body armor. Most units require you to wear the whole package before you go outside the “wire”, but many do not. I guess they can court martial me later (lol) for having been out of uniform because I never wore all that stuff. I wore the chest system only. The nut protector was useless and everything else was too bulky. Try getting in and out of a HMMWV with all that stuff on. PITA! By the looks of it I would say this soldier feels the same way. And look at the little gizmo on his chest…what do you all think that is? As I said in another post, do you think you can buy that at Wal-Mart or Big 5? If so let me know which one. I could use more gear.
So for any of you that want to argue the validity anymore please speak directly to me. Everybody I have come across so far that bashes this soldier or says it’s a fake photo (lol) has either never been military, never been in combat, or watches too many movies….or they just have nothing better to do…
…OR they work for the SPLC. Haha!
The point is you should all be supporting these men. They don’t want to be in Iraq any more than we want them to be there. I know some of you think that if they were real heroes they should go AWOL rather than be in Iraq…really? How practical is that? If you actually knew anything you would know that they aren’t breaking anything in the Constitution because going to Iraq was approved by Congress. These guys want to be home with their families. They’re not warmongers. Politicians pay for war with tax payer money. Soldiers pay for war in blood.
These are the men and women that will either end up protecting you or imprisoning you. It would be in your best interest to have them on your side. God bless them and let’s hope they are all on the side of the American people.

Hell of a good statement Tim. I spent 27 months deployed and you are exactly right. I am quite entertained when people make comments and think they know what they are talking about. As an NCO I would laugh at the idea of somebody even getting an Article 15 for it, let alone a court martial. I don’t know why, but it seems that this blog has drawn in alot of conspiracy theorist that are really killing legitimacy of the blog. I wouldn’t doubt if alot of them are plants to do just that. I believe in free speech and the right to express your opinion, and I’ll probably catch hell for what I just said, but im getting sick of reading some of these posts by people who obviously have no damn clue about how things really work for the guys and gals on the ground. It seems like a lot of them consider those of us who have served as enemies. Seems like a bad strategy to me to piss off the people who actually know how to fight and will be the ones to defend the constitution if it comes to fighting.

I am an active-duty Marine who served two tours in Iraq. I took my Oath in 2002 and have kept it ever since. A fellow Marine enlightened me to Oath Keepers and I find your organization to be an honorable and respectable group with perhaps the most important mission in these troubled times. I have a question that I hope Oath Keepers can clarify and to help me in my duty as an Oath Keeper. I am a gay man who has to serve under the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. Where does Oath Keepers stand on this policy and would Oath Keepers welcome someone like me into their group knowing I am a gay man? I agree that all those other things that are going on are overstepping the intent if not the letter of the constitution. So far, it’s been done by duly elected officials and even appointed bureaucrats using the power of the courts as well as an ignorant population. Arguments can be made that make sense, and in most cases are right. It’s been years in the making, and the list of greivances is long, but the Boston Massacre was also years in the making. No one knows just when it will land, but we’ll know it when it happens. I don’t know about the marriage v. civil union issue. I’ve heard arguments about acceptance on such a scale being detrimental to society and have read about all the societies that did falling (Sparta, Rome, Weimar Republic) but don’t know if the case is solid. There were certainlty other factors involved. It may be easy to find scapegoats in others that aren’t like the majority, as in racism or anti-semitism. I think it’s more of an issue of policies than people, but very few can admit they’ve screwed up an entire country, and progressives/socialists need to re-write history to avoid it. I know the Republicans have been complicit at a minimum and down-right active in many cases. I personally feel betrayed, but that’s a story for another time.

Wonderful Copenhagen – Part 1

lmstatueWho’d have ever have thought it might be possible that the engine of the destruction of this republic would be constructed not in Washington, DC but, rather, in Copenhagen, Denmark – forever immortalized in the Viennese waltz “Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen” popularized in the 1950s by Danny Kaye in the motion picture Hans Christian Anderson?
Ah, beautiful, picturesque, historic Copenhagen – home of the iconic Little Mermaid statue and, this December, host of the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, where the sovereignty of the United States will gasp its last breath – if Lord Christopher Monckton is correct
Last week, in a symposium conducted by the Minnesota Free Market Institute at Bethel University in St. Paul, Lord Christopher Monckton (former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher) presented a detailed and lengthy case against anthropogenic climate change, complete with charts and graphs. The entire lecture can be seen in the 90-minute video on the MFMI site. The slide show he uses to illustrate his lecture can be found here and will make the experience much more interesting.
However, the reason for this post was not Monckton’s whole presentation but, rather, his closing remarks regarding the Copenhagen conference, shown below.

And what are we doing instead? At Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regimes around the world and the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it.
I have read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity.
The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfaction of what is called, coyly, a “climate debt,” because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t and we’ve been screwing up the climate – we haven’t been screwing up the climate, but that’s the line.
And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.
How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once. So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement,and took over Greenpeace so that my friends who founded it left within a year, because they captured it – now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view – he’s going to sign, he’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace laureate; of course he’ll sign it.
And the trouble is this; if that treaty is signed, your Constitution says that it takes precedence over your Constitution, and you can’t resile from that treaty unless you get the agreement from all the other states partisan – because you’ll be the biggest paying country, they’re not going to let you out of it.
So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your prosperity away forever. And neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect will have any power whatsoever to take it back again That is how serious it is. I’ve read the treaty. I’ve seen this stuff about government and climate debt and enforcement. They are going to do this to you whether you like it or no.
But I think it is here – here in your great nation, which I so love and I so admire – it is here that perhaps, at this eleventh hour, at the fifty-ninth minute and fifty-ninth second, you will rise up and you will stop your president from signing that dreadful treaty, that purposeless treaty. For there is no problem with climate and, even if there were, economically speaking there is nothing we can do about it.
So I end by saying to you the words that Winston Churchill addressed to your president in the darkest hour before the dawn of freedom in the Second World War. He quoted from your great poet Longfellow:
Sail on, O Ship of State!
Sail on, O Union, strong and great!
Humanity with all its fears,
With all the hopes of future years,
Is hanging breathless on thy fate!
Lord Monckton received a standing ovation and in the subsequent Q&A received this question:
The current administration and the Democratic majority in Congress has shown little regard for the will of the people. They’re trying to pass a serious government agenda, and serious taxation and burdens on future generations. And there seems to be little to stop them. How do you propose we stop Obama from doing this? Because I see no way to stop him from signing anything in Copenhagen. I believe that’s his agenda and he’ll do it.
Lord Monckton responded:
I don’t minimize the difficulty. But on this subject – I don’t really do politics, because it’s not right. In the end, your politics is for you. The correct procedure is for you to get onto your representatives, both in the US Senate where the bill has yet to go through (you can try and stop that) and in [the House], and get them to demand their right of audience (which they all have) with the president and tell him about this treaty. There are many very powerful people in this room, wealthy people, influential people. Get onto the media, tell them about this treaty. If they go to http://www.wattsupwiththat.com, they will find (if they look carefully enough) a copy of that treaty, because I arranged for it to be posted there not so long ago. Let them read it, and let the press tell the people that their democracy is about to be taken away for no good purpose, at least [with] no scientific basis [in reference to climate change]. Tell the press to say this. Tell the press to say that, even if there is a problem [with climate change], you don’t want your democracy taken away. It really is as simple as that.
I read through the treaty; Monckton’s description and critique of it are both entirely accurate. Whether or not this particular draft of the treaty is the one that will be presented to the signatories in December, however, is another matter.
For the educated among us, the most chilling aspect of Monckton’s address was his claim that this new treaty would supersede our own Constitution in terms of its scope and authority. If such were the case, we would truly be doomed.
Is Lord Monckton correct? Will the Copenhagen Treaty ultimately override the U.S. Constitution and make us serfs of the United Nations?
In Part 2 we’ll explore those questions in greater detail. In the meantime, let us sit back and enjoy happier memories of Danny Kaye, keeping in mind that it’s okay to pronounce the name of the city as “Coh-pen-hoggen,” as this somewhat more closely approximates the Danish pronunciation. Nevertheless, standard American usage (which, in my opinion, should govern every language in the world – as it is my firm belief that all people everywhere should abandon their silly, impossible-to-learn languages and speak English) pronounces it as “Coh-pen-haygen” so we’ll just go with that and pretend Danny Kay is Danish:

So, are these “Oathkeepers” going to leave Iraq? it’s a clear violation of the Constitution for US troops to be outside our borders anywhere but international waters. The Federal Government can repel invasions and punish felonies on the high seas; that’s it for the Armed Forces, and the Tenth Amendment forbids the government to order the Armed Forces to do anything more.
If you claim to protect and defend the Constitution, you can’t follow orders that violate it.
It sounds to me like these guys really need to do something sane with their lives, something even more closely made to protect and defend human happiness; the Constitution obviously isn’t it. The moment any Oath Keeper takes part in any of the “we will not obey” orders listed, they come under the section of the UCMJ dealing with such activities:
“All officers, warrant officers, petty officers,
and noncommissioned officers shall have authority to quell all quarrels, frays, and disorders among persons subject to this Code and to apprehend persons subject to this Code who take part in the same.”
At that point, Oath Keepers only have three choices. 1) become a militia or 2) rent a conference room and talk your enemy to death or 3) allow yourself to be detained and Courts-Martialed.

Mr. Frick, if obeying the “we will not’s” as written and as a blanket (true in ALL events) admission, then no…the cause is illegal as far as the UCMJ is concerned.
If obeying the “we will not’s” as written is applied discriminately, then yes.
Known by most of my fellow vets, some of the “we will not’s” will have to be obeyed should the SHTF on our soil to protect Americans FROM Americans, such as scavengers, criminals and profiteers (black market).
The trick is in knowing the difference between a lawful order born of self-defense and unlawful born of domination and/or control for the sake of control.
For example: I would obey #6 if that’s what it takes to calm a group down to prevent others from being trampled to death because the crowd is panicking.
I’ve collected the bodies of those who died that way. It’s like picking up Jello.
Y’all might want to discuss the terms under which you will or will not obey an order, because if, or when, the SHTF you will have to choose a side and there will be many sides to chose from.
You’ll have CPUSA, the gov, KKK, WN, the military, Black Panthers, NS and a slew of splinter groups with ALL of them wanting control for their side.

I have had to counter about half of the social education he and my three other grand kids get from their high schools. High schools that teach from textbooks that are not only incomplete, biased but in some cases just outright wrong.

You think the divide in America is growing? Well so do I and millions of other Americans in flyover country do too.
This time it really is not just about politics.
SOME of us realize that it is about taking control of the United States of America and turning it into a Socialist/Marxist cesspool just like the other failed states in this world. Even now today, there are still millions of Americans that don’t know or care a twit about politics but just vote the party line or even worse…don’t vote at all. The democrats almost have a lock on minority and black voters and will close that lock with legislation in the next few month.
This time in our history, this enemy within, are almost succeeding. The only thing in their way is you and the rest of loyal Americans, of all parties and affiliations, because it appears our representatives and even our President will not uphold their oaths.
Power indeed does corrupt, but it takes a certain deviant breed of people that want to change America into something that our Founders never wanted, fought against and warned us about. They are our enemies within.
Our Founder’s not only warned us against all this, but wrote rules in our Bill of Rights (and it’s Preamble), our Constitution. And inscribed in other important papers that were meant to warn, prepare and enable us to protect the Republic for which they stood, died for and wanted for all of their future generations of Americans.

I would at this time consider myself a non-oath taker. I have never served in the military, police or Fire department. When i was a child growing up i remember now that i did take a similar Oath. A few years before my graduation this oath was removed from most if not all schools in the US. The Pledge of Allegiance. Its clear now why it was removed. So people would forget. I always thought it felt big, to recite this pledge. It made you want to stand tall. It made me want to hold my head high. Like they were more than just words some one made us say everyday before school would start.
My father was Enlisted USAF served for 20 years from just near the end of Vietnam til the early 90’s. I work for the US Gov’t though. I serve the US soldiers in the best way i know how. I’m a mechanic BTW. My daily tasks seem trivial compared to what you all not just Oath Keepers but all military risk daily.
I have flooded myself with intel over the last several years. Since about a year or so after 9/11. So much intel i thought maybe i was going crazy for a bit and it couldn’t be as bad as my mind is thinking it may be. Amidst trying to keep my sanity and trying to get to the bottom of this (insert random conspiracy) thing. I stumbled across some youtube (my new TV i don’t have cable) Videos containing link to your site and your message. My father is more of a if the leaders say it is so than it must be true kinda guy serving blindly the best he could, but myself i have always questioned some decisions made. Especially the send off of our troops, friends and family members to fight unjust unfounded war for others to profit from.
After all my research i have come to several conclusions. The rich don’t think they are rich enough. War makes rich people richer (unless the war is on them). The Government protects the rich be it in police/military protection, bail outs, legislation, attaching bad bills to good bills to get them to slide through unnoticed. Money IS EVIL the barter system is better. The powers that be (if we are all correct) want to control us, not just the US, but every citizen of our planet. If you would like to hear my opinion on the bailout and how that should have went i may post it in the future just Say “hey Que what do you think we should have done with all that bail out money?” and ill be more than happy to enlighten you.

I ‘enlisted’ in OATH KEEPERS long before it reached this size. My only regret is I can’t continue to join up every day to retake the oaths we all committed to, some many, many years ago like myself, and that we restate those committments with even deeper meaning when joining Oath Keepers. I would wager that probably 90%+ of our guys and gals in uniform would be more than happy to join us in this fine organization if only they were aware of it. One of our duties is to help them be made aware. May God bless those who have already heard of Oath Keepers and who now wear those patches to display their true patriotism.

I’m a fairly intelligent guy and I’m astounded by anyone who would be against the presevation of this country and what it stands for. I was a police officer during the ’60s and ’70s in a Midwest town with a huge state university in it. I, vividly remember being called out to quell riots of spoiled brats who were students. Burning ROTC buildings, tearing up Post Offices, etc. Not to mention the things they did to Police Officers. NOW those same people are running our country. I’ve read most of the entries and have yet to find anything that threatens our security. I’d be interested in how many African Americans have enrolled in Oathtakers. I’d bet the numbers are substantial. The one thing we often forget is that it was a Republican president who initiated the Civil War. Further; there is no inication, that I saw, that Oathtakers encourages the overthrow of the U.S. Government. I hope and pray that our wonderful country isn’t ripped to pieces by an inserection of any kind. I think this can be handled, very well, in the mid-term elections in 2010. However, all of us need to be aware of the seething rage that is rampant in America that is a direct result of the “Let them eat cake” mentality in Washington.

A few questions about defending – WHEN and HOW are we willing to defend the Constitution?
I have read the comments above and I must say that many good points are being made on all sides in “most” cases. With that said, it seems as though we are going the way of most religions throughout history – a common goal is forsaken because of our differences on HOW that goal is to be achieved. We need to unite and stop tearing out the eyes of the other. If we do not we will be easy pickings as we have been for the past 100 years.
It is true – we have forsaken out oaths as individuals by sitting by and watching as our blessed freedoms were systematically taken from our land. Even with this organization (of which I am a proud member) at this time we are merely spreading rhetoric and emotions.
When will we get serious about taking our freedoms back that were bought at such a very high price? HOW will we get serious? WHO will lead those that ARE serious – be it political or otherwise?
While I can appreciate the goals of the sealionfoundation – with a nation that has had so much given in the way of the lives of our best and brightest, I am unwilling to abandon it just yet. I still believe that there are enough of us that are willing to make a difference – one way or the other – whatever it takes – but we cannot do it as a bunch of individuals. We must be well led and organized or we will end up as every other failed revolution in history (political or otherwise).
Those in power are coming out and actually saying openly they are going to radically change this country and start a revolution and from their own writings and speeches we can see what they mean. When will we take them at their word? In fact, they are not just talk – they are actually dismantling our nation as we bicker among ourselves.
At this time I can only hope that this and other such organizations are serving the purpose of bringing like minds together, but I fear that, unless we DO come together AND cause a MEANINGFUL change in this country (starting with the illegitimacy of citizenship of he who resides in the big white house Penn Ave that I had the honor to serve at during a REAL man’s term back in the 80’s), we will be without “political” options …

I respect the ideals of the Oath Keepers. I found the site just a couple days ago and I admit, as I watched the video on the main page my eyes watered liberally. The video was well done and I loved the “Orders We Will Not Obey”. And then I read the comments on this page.
Theres a lot of hatred and anger on this page. And I’m not talking about toward the Government. This country was founded not just by white English speaking God fearing people. This country, this experiment that has grown to be the best example of freedom is an odd assortment of people from all over this planet with one main dream, Freedom! My grandparents on one side were born in Switzerland, ancestors on the other side fought Indians on the plains. I’ve been lucky to have lived in a lot of the US. My first girl friend was a Sioux Indian, some of the greatest folks I’ve known were Black. We truly are a melting pot and I don’t care what you look like or whom you pray to or even if you don’t. If you’re proud to be an American and respect the flag, hey, glad to know you!
I was going to join Oath Keepers but after this page, I’ll have to think about that. Do I think this country is heading in the right direction, NOPE! Do I think we may have insurrection, I pray not, but… And in the event we do have insurrection, with a lot of haters out there walking around with high velocity weapons… it makes targeting much more difficult.
When I first took my oath back in 75, geez, I was a stupid wet behind the ears teenager with no real idea what I was getting into or goals in life. The second time I wasn’t that much more advanced. Before I raised my hand a third time I read the oath a few days before hand. “To Support and Defend the Constitution Against All Enemies Foreign and Domestic”, I’ve never forgotten that part since because I knew full well what it implied, and it’s scary. My wife and I have been discussing that same phrase a lot these past months, I even rented the movie “Seven Days in May” to give her some perspective.
For those that hate, check your family tree, you may not be a perfect WASP and so what. What IS important is love of country and integrity. If you have those values, I’ll proudly stand shoulder to shoulder with you.

Just a short message to those re-introducing themselves to the Constitution of the United States. When reading the Articles, pay special attention to Article VI, Par. 2 (The Supremacy Clause as some call it).
After reading it a couple of times, I came to realize exactly what it says, and it means that no law which is not in pursuance of the Constitution itself ((or the Bill of Rights, which is part of that Constitution) is lawful.
In other words, if a law is written into a State Constitution, or any of its legislative acts, and it violates a right, privlege, power or immunity of a citizen of the United States, then that law is declared by Article VI to be non-existent. All laws (and any Treaties made by the Feds) must be “…in pursuance” of the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights.
So if one is told to obey a “lawful order”, if we know that such an order violates any one of the rights, privliges, powers or immunites of a person standing insice the Continental United States, such order is by definition, unlawful, and simply does not exist.
It is a powerful Article.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness before making a decision, but please consider that this is an open forum and does not necessarily represent the ranks of Oath Keepers. Many people are signing on to comment here that have never served their country in any capacity much less taken an oath to defend our most sacred document.
As far as our being a “melting pot” I differ with you in that we USED to be a melting pot – for the past few decades there has been a serious push to make us a multi-cultural society which is contrary to a melting pot.
A melting pot is a wonderful society model and brings the strengths of each contributing culture to create a “super culture” if you will. While a multi-cultural society alienates each culture into its own area and pits it against all others by highlighting differences.
I have a number of black and hispanic friends in the Corps and local Police force and they would be the first to tell you that the “racial leaders” of their “communities” do not represent them at all as those supposed leaders benefit most from the races being at each others throats.
I realize you saying we ARE a melting pot may have been mere semantics, but words mean something so I thought I would just highlight these points.
From what I have seen from O.K. in their mailings to me as well as their speeches I have seen nothing that shows a desire for anything other than peaceful resistance to the deterioration of our Constitution, but at the same time I see backbone which will stand up when the chips are down.

I posted here a few days ago. I don’t believe this group is in any way a hate group or any of the negative things being shot around by other posters. This is the way i take their message. We will not violate the rights of Americans. Like was done in Louisiana after it was hit by Katrina. People were kept from leaving for no reason. The roads were blocked and people were not even allowed to walk away if they desired. Supplies were stopped of all types. Food, water, clothing and fuel that were to be delivered to the area was turned around and sent back. The government used the national guard to do this. Why? I wish some one could give me one good reason why people were treated like cattle instead of Americans, but i know you can’t cause there is not one.
That is the type of thing i think these real heroes stand for. Don’t listen to the haters they are just trying to twist the message. I didn’t read anywhere in the O.K. message that they are gonna try and violently take over the gov’t for violating the Constitution. Just that they will not obey those orders on the very people and land the swore to defend. Most things i have heard from actual members here is that they are promoting non-violence.
I think more police officers should be part of this. I have had my rights violated many times by police and if they didn’t just out right violate my rights, they trick you into giving them up by saying things like “you don’t have anything illegal you don’t mind if i look do you?”
I was young and dumb then. Oh and btw, i have never been arrested or had anything illegal found in any of these cases. Doing nothing wrong makes it easy for you to think in your head that its OK to let them look around, but its not its and outright violation of all of our rights!

As far as commercial, monetary or business transactions were concerned, the people of the United States were no longer differentiated from any other enemy of the United States. We had lost that crucial distinction. We can see that the phrase which excluded transactions executed wholly within the United States has been removed from the amended version of Section 5 (b) of the Act of March 9, 1933, Section 2, and replaced with “by any person within the United States or anyplace subject to the jurisdiction thereof”.
That’s ME and YOU. That whole phrase about “Enemies foreign and DOMESTIC” makes more sense now.

Once the emergency is declared, the common law is abolished, the Constitution is abolished and we fall under the absolute will of Government, public policy.
All the government needs to continue is to have public opinion on their side. If public opinion can be kept, in sufficient degree, on the side of the government, statutes, laws and bills can continue to be passed. The Constitution has no meaning. The Constitution is suspended. It has been for 76 years. We’re not under law. Law has been abolished. We’re under a system of public policy, (War Powers).
So when you go into that courtroom with your Constitution and the common law in your hand, what does the judge tell you? He tells you that you have no persona standi in judicio. You have no personal standing at law. He tells you not to bother bringing the Constitution into his court, because it is not a Constitutional court, but an executive tribunal operating under a totally different jurisdiction.

And I’ll second that. Because I do believe in oath keepers. But we need to get away from the “groupthink” mentality that has been perpetuated upon us by the incessant propaganda of this “democratic government”.

As an ex Rhodesian, I urge ALL Americans to do whatever is needed to preserve and protect your constitution. America is the pinnacle of democracy, freedom, human & civil rights, not just to the Western world, but to the Whole world.
We, in Rhodesia, fought against tyranny and communism, but, it was to the elitists and globalists interest to dismantle governments in Africa and replace them with ones that would be easily manipulated and controlled. This is evident from the top to the bottom of Africa. Our governments were tainted as oppressive and rascist in the eyes of the world. This is a great thing to see! I dont think some of you realize what this means. You know that it is a small percentage right now and hopefully growing that will be on the side of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. It will be like our founding fathers aposing the British all over again! The 2nd Reveloutionary War is about to begin. All it will take is a false flag event or financial colapse or something else that will force martial law upon us. When it happens, it will be the bloodiest War to ever be fought on this Earth. I was so happy to hear of Oathkeepers. I started spreading on the Twitter and all my emails. I graduated in 1976, bicentennial, 200 years of freedom and liberty. Now it’s 233 years and we have tyranny rampant in the White House. I knew it was coming before he was even nominated. I can’t do much, but I am spreading the word. I started fighting this 2 years ago. I knew it was going to happen. I was sickened by what happened to the Navy Seals who arrested those scumbags that killed our guys. They have everything covered. The Justice Department will not do anything for us. They will do as the Master says. He is getting his social justice and if and when he signs in Copenhagen, our country will be lost. But I feel so much better now that I have found Oathkeepers. Thank you for what you do. We all on the outside of military do not have a clue what you all do for your country. I just found out about Oathkeepers yesterday and the Three Percenters just now while reading this site. I am a NRA member and proud of the work that you guys/gals are doing. I was raised Military and married Military. Currently live at Camp Lejeune NC and I am so very very proud of all that you do to protect the Homeland in spite of some who want to tear it down. I have just read all the posts on this thread, and I am frankly appalled by the vituperation and belligerence I see here. If we are at each others’ throats, how are we going to defend liberty and restore the Constitution? Can’t we agree to disagree about fine points of interpretation about who, or what is to blame for what has happened, and is happening, to our country, but unite on common ground, that common ground being the restoration of Constitutional government? A final determination about how we got here will take an extensive investigation and probably several years of work by a commission dedicated to that purpose. In the meantime, the house is on fire, and we have to put the fire out, or die in the fire. Not only will we die in the fire, but all our posterity will die as well! What does it matter if a young soldier stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan isn’t aware of the full implications of what he is doing there? He is serving his country in good faith, as he understands his service. If he swears to uphold his oath to the Constitution, he is the ally of all who love this country and want to restore it to the greatness and goodness for which it was destined. I think that Benjamin Franklin’s comment to the Constitutional Convention in 1787 is appropriate here. When there was a violent disagreement during one session of the Convention, Franklin appealed for order, saying: “Gentlemen, gentlemen! We must all hang together, or we will assuredly all hang separately!”

Seems a lot of OKs have figured out it’s not about “liberal” or “conservative” or “Democrat” or “Republican.” The bankers and military corporations have taken over the country. It doesn’t matter who the President is. Their plan is endless war to reduce all to peasants.
OKs are one of the few bright hopes out there. But serving in Iraq or Af/Pak certainly seems to violate the Orders We Will Not Obey. Active duty soldiers may be the only ones who can bring us peace, so they can help defend freedom at home. Thank you for helping that happen.

Throughout my life even as a young boy Ive been drawn to the opposition of evil. Why not get the word out to National Guard / Reserve soldiers as well ? many of them serve in Iraq and Afghanistan with active duty. I just recently returned from my second deployment to Iraq and only a small percent in the Guard know about the oath keepers,if someone makes the effort to include these soldiers as well you might be pleasantly surprised by the response

perhaps what’s necessary is a with holding of all taxes due, in other words a Tax Revolt if 20% of TAXPAYERS would refuse to pay taxes they would be screwed no money no give aways and they couldn’t prosecute 10 million of us.

I love the idea of our service men and women wearing the OK patch. But what I fear is this will be a red flag prior to the imposing of martial law. Martial Law will be inacted after the arrest of most or all active and reserve personel that wear it. Our constition was the last covenent with god and we prepared. It is coming SOON

We must say what is right, stand for what is right and vote for what is right, and if that doesn’t work then fight for what is right.
