Chris Evans And What The Oath Means To Him

chrisMy name is Chris Evans. At the age of 17 I opted to join the Mississippi Army National Guard under the split option. I wanted to fly, however the stigmatism in my left eye prevented that. Of course this was before the experimental Lasik program. And to this day I still want to fly, fixed wing, rotary wing, it doesn’t matter.  Since I could not fly the guard unit near me was 14-M, man portable stingers. Yea I thought to myself, if I can’t fly for my country then neither can they.

When I went down to MEPS and swore in, at the time I didn’t have a full understanding of what exactly I swore to do and not to do. Although I didn’t realize the full implications of the oath at the time I did still get chills in my spine and the adrenaline going as  I spoke those words.  Even to this day, when I posted the video reaffirming my oath, as well as the ceremony I led at the local tea party here, I STILL got the same feeling. Well actually the feeling was more intense now that I have a better understanding of those words. My oath expires the day I expire, AND NOT A DAY BEFORE!!

Now I am working to make sure others, especially the younger guys and gals, get a better understanding of the oath they swore.  And when it comes time for our oath takers to become Oath Keepers, I will be here to stand with them! The beauty of the oath is that Washington can play WHATEVER politics they want, but the burden of enforcement falls upon oath takers. That being said, if we just FOLLOW the law, we will once again be a FREE REPUBLIC! This is what our Founding Fathers had envisioned for you, me, and our children.

I am an Oath Keeper.

I am a Guardian of the Republic.

I am standing watch.

My name is Chris Evans

NOTE FROM STEWART RHODES:

Chris, also known on youtube as “thearmysredneck,” has been a staunch supporter of our efforts from the very beginning.  In fact, just before we rallied on Lexington Green this past April 19, Chris did a video on April 17 to send his regards and regrets, telling us he wished he could be standing there with us on the Green, and reaffirming his oath right there on video.  Here it is:

Well, now Chris is very active in Mississippi on behalf of Oath Keepers, and on his own initiative he has set up booths at gun shows, visited VFW and American Legion halls as well as fire-stations.  He also spoke on behalf of Oath Keepers at a Southaven Mississippi Tea Party on 9-5-09:

Chris did an amazing job in just five minutes! He is well spoken, and a very committed and courageous defender of the Republic. And that is why he is now being vetted for the position of Oath Keepers state director for the state of Mississippi. I think he will do just fine. -- Stewart Rhodes

I remember my MEPS… did it in Atlanta.

Yeah, there were/are goose bumps, and no, I had no true understanding as to what I was swearing to.
I do now…, and it’s the best thing I ever did, excluding my Daughter, of course.

I am so thankful for the patriotism and inspiration I receive from this site and please know that whenever possible, I take what I glean here out there, and for me that is in my classroom. Children know they are living in a fragile country, but I can see them gain renewed strength everyday when they are exposed to the miraculous history of this country and the inspiring documents that gave a solid foundation for our country to develop on. Thanks for being one of the standard bearers.

    ANDREW MORCEAU Says:

    Mr. Rhodes,

THANK YOU! I served as an MP for 6 years, then reupped with the Guard in Mass. right after 9/11. We’ve spent too much time as a spectators, watching this gov. transition into a left-wing dictatorship over the past few decades. Oath Keepers is necessary and I’m glad it exists. I’m an American Indian artist and veteran and I will not sit this fight out. I don’t get much traffic on my site, but I’ll be linking onto yours, for what it’s worth. You can consider me a strong supporter of Oath Keepers. I know it may be tough to believe, but you have an ally in Massachusetts.

    Soon to become a Member,
    CPL Morceau, Andrew J.
