Testimonial Of Eric T Orseske, IVAW, Has Been Deleted
The testimonial of Eric T Orseske, who says he is a proud member of IVAW, has been deleted for the following reasons:
1. Oath Keepers testimonials are meant to be about the individual’s oath and service, not about stumping for some organization. It’s improper to attempt to use the Oath Keepers site for such promotion.
2. IVAW in particular has direct connections with some radical left collectivist individuals and organizations, who would scrap this Republic in a heartbeat if they could, to replace it with their own collectivist vision. Such collectivism is incompatible with Oath Keepers, an organization dedicated to the preservation of this Republic. As Oath Keeper Vietnam Vet Lew Waters said: “IF someone shows and acknowledges a propensity to support the very views we are swearing to stand up against and openly admits to obeying those who would impose the very programs we say we will oppose, are we not leaving our flanks exposed?”
Yes, there are groups and individuals that call themselves “conservative” who have also demonstrated their contempt for our Constitution, but that fact doesn’t absolve IVAW. To the very best of our ability, we won’t allow any such group, from the left or from the right, to use this site or this organization to self promote. This organization is about keeping the oath, not breaking it and scrapping our Republic in favor of some attempt at a collectivist utopia (recent history shows us that such attempts at a collectivist utopia gave us the mass murders of Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot, which matched or exceeded the crimes of Hitler). We oppose collectivism from any quarter.
3. IVAW also has many of the same credibility problems as its predecessor, VVAW, which had fake Vietnam Vets making accusations against real veterans:

http://www.americanthinker.com/2007/10/investigate_the_winter_soldier.html
4. Therefore, that testimonial has been pulled, and there will NEVER AGAIN be a testimonial on this site promoting IVAW. We will also institute a general policy of not posting testimonials that are mere attempts to promote some other group on our site. Testimonials should be about the individual’s oath, period, not some group’s agenda. And while I hate to do it, we will have to more carefully scrutinize submitted testimonials. As Oath Keepers grows and has an increasing positive affect by reminding military and police of their oath, we can expect to not only be attacked by the usual enemies of our Republic, such as SPLC, (which has singled us out precisely because of our mission), which may include trying to sneak in damaging fake “testimonials” but we should also expect increased attempts by organizations and individuals to try and use this site to promote their own pet agenda. We won’t let that happen.
Now, back on mission, reaching, teaching, and inspiring those who took the oath to keep it.
For the Republic,
Stewart
Please donate and support Oath Keepers mission, every little bit helps!

HI, I have just been receiving your twitter messages of late and I have a question. It has recently come to my attention about Public Law 87-297. Since reading this, I am absolutely ill and I wondered if it is still in existence?
As a supporter of our troops, and have adopted many–none had ever told me about it. We had become good friends and I don’t understand it if the law is still in effect.
I am so concerned for my Country and my grandchildren. Thought you’d be just the folks to ask.

A few folks still aren’t happy apparently…
Keepers remove IVAW “testimony”
I don’t make accusations, but I WILL asked very pointed questions, and the question I ask is this, are you a HUGE supporter of Ron Paul?
You can answer here or in private email if you wish, but I would really like to know, and my continued linking TO Oath Keepers is dependent on the answer of this question.

And just to let you know, I finally paid attention to your side bar, question answered and your link on my blog has been removed..

Good design is an important thing. And the placement of chairs is a part of that.
I, for one, am glad to know it’s also important to Texas Fred.
He is making sure all the deck furniture is precisely in place to his liking; down to the last detail before he’ll pick up a bucket and help the rest of us bail.

Hi. I’m a member of IVAW, and I have been looking at the Oath Keepers for a while. I’m an active duty soldier, and I am very interested in what you guys have to say. However, I have to say that I’m disappointed to see that you’ve pre-judged IVAW, and its members, on the basis of a few people who set out to character-assassinate it.
I understand the importance of not letting your site be used as a promotional tool-for anybody. I agree that it’s improper to use the site for straight promotion of such, and would hope that you keep such policies for individuals on all sides of the aisle.
However, I take strong umbrage at the accusation that IVAW on the whole has direct connection to groups who would destroy the republic, and therefore should be shunned. The majority of IVAW members are strong supporters of the Nation, and the Republic. I myself am a staunch Constitutionalist. That is why I oppose the war-just as, in fact, Ron Paul did. IVAW is not about collectivism. If it were, I would never be not only a member but a leader in the organization. (I am a previous member of the Board of Directors, and I’m pretty open about my anti-collectivist opinions. I am also a member of the VFW and American Legion, which I promise are not about collectivism.)
While some individuals might be collectivist, that is certainly not the opinion of the majority.
In the past, some individuals have slipped by our rigorous credibility checks. However, these individuals are rare exceptions, and generally fooled others as well, including the VA. Would you condemn the VA because a few individuals have managed to defraud it? If not, why condemn IVAW and its members, many of whom may wish to abide by their (and your) oath?
I welcome email about this subject.

THIS IS 100% UNTRUE.
IVAW wants our American Fighting Troops to Die! Please read the following comments from members and the Co-Chairs of the Board of Directors.
From Carl Webb’s IVAW member profile:
“In the struggle against U.S. imperialist domination, I believe oppressed people have the right to resist an occupation by any means necessary TO INCLUDE FIGHTING U.S. TROOPS. The U.S. is the world’s greatest terrorist threat and I’m telling the youth of America to not fight on the wrong side in the U.S. Military”
From a comment left by Carl Webb on the IVAW member forum:
“I go on the record as advocating violence against American troops”
From Carl Webb’s Facebook website:
“I deserted from the Texas Army National Guard and was one of the very first soldiers to join Iraq Veterans Against the War. I worked on vehicles while on active duty as a fuel and electrical repairman. So I know how easy is to create a grounded wire to drain the battery or a hard to find break in the wiring harness that can keep a vehicle off the road for a long time.”
In an Email Response (Aug 12, 2009) from Geoff Millard, Board of Directors of IVAW:
“His (Webb) statements about sabotage and calls for others to kill American Soldiers are, while stupid, is not a direct violation of the IVAW’s COC (Code of Conduct).
In an Email Response (Aug 12, 2009) from Adrienne Kinne, Co-Chair of Board of Directors of IVAW:
“Resolutions aside, actions speak louder than words, and I stand by our actions as an organization. “
“I don’t know about what Carl said exactly… but you do realize that in the history of GI resistance, soldier’s sabotaged equipment!!! They threw wrenches in engines to stop them from working and anything they could do to break transportation equipment. Please do a little research about the history of the GI resistance movement…”

I checked out IVAW over a year ago. It was very up front about being an organization meant to attack the Bush administration, and elect veterans on the Democrat ticket in an effort to give the Democrat party a veneer of legitimacy in discussions of military matters. Those pages have disappeared and IVAW has a fresh coat of paint, but the core remains the same. IVAW/Code Pink/La Raza/Progressive Democrats of America are all birds of a feather, flocking together.
You may think you are doing what is right, but you are just a tool of the left, whether you realize it, or not.

My Son and I attended April 19th 09..Lexington MA.
The next day the reenactment…
It was Liberating to stand on that ground and think/imagine what some had experienced to establish this freedom WE enjoy today— I say this because it is NOW — as prophesied by Jefferson— OUR turn to stand and deliver LIBERTY in America.
What an HONOR.
I Pray my fellow Patriots heed the call of our nation — and stay the course to oppose the tyranny that has manifested in our nation.
WE must restore “our” Constitutional Republic.
We hang together or seperately.
I hope everyone posting here at OK (individually) will post their own position and intent regarding our contries constitutional condition and their intent to supportefforts to restore it, and thereby no more of the collectivest idioms that stand opposed to individual sovereignty for the benefit of the masses— even though WE realize WE must rise together to protect ourselves and eachother– WE must maintain a clear understanding of “HONOR” toward the individual and thier rights.
