OATH KEEPERS/GATHERING OF EAGLES DC DINNER SATURDAY NIGHT, 1830 (6:30 pm). MUST RSVP
[see below for full event itinerary]
Oath Keepers, along with Gathering of Eagles, will have a dinner on Saturday evening, 9-12, after the DC rally. You are invited! Marine David Hedrick will be our main speaker. SEAL Capt. Larry Bailey, founder of Gathering of Eagles, will also be there.
TIME: 1830 (6:30pm).
LOCATION:
The Channel Inn.
650 Water St, S.W.
Washington, DC 20024-2422
Click here to see a map.
You need to RSVP as soon as possible so we can give the restaurant owner a head count.
To RSVP: email drew@oathkeepers.org. In the subject line, put “RSVP for DC Dinner” and then tell Drew your name and how many people you will be bringing with you, including yourself.
We will be taking RSVPs right up to the last minute, but space is limited to the first 110 people for the private room we have reserved. After that, folks will have to use the main room of the restaurant. So RSVP ASAP! In the reserved room, seating will be at tables of ten (so be ready to make new friends!). Cost will be $30.00 per person, tip and taxes included.
SPECIAL NOTE: The hotel/restaurant owner, Manuel Fernandez, was born in Cuba but he and his family fled from Cuba after Castro’s communist takeover, leaving with only the clothes on their backs. Thus, it is fitting place for us to have dinner since we are committed to stopping the same thing from happening here. See you there!
ROOMS AVAILABLE. For anyone who still needs a room, the Channel Inn has rooms available at a special discount rate of $110.00. Just tell them you are with Gathering of Eagles to get that rate. Call (800) 368-5668. It’s a nice hotel, right down on the water, and close to the Capitol, and it’s owned by a true patriot.
FULL OATH KEEPERS ITINERARY FOR WASHINGTON DC RALLY
FRIDAY:
Remember 9/11 and Support the Troops at Walter Reed
The Event:
At 6:30 PM on 11 September, members of the DC Chapter of FreeRepublic, the DC Chapter of Protest Warrior, Gathering of Eagles, EagesUP, bloggers, and other patriotic Americans [and Oath Keepers!] will join together for a rally at the Main Gate of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The rally will end when the WRAMC bus returns from the weekly Friday night dinner trip, at approximately 9:30PM. Return time varies.
The Main Gate is located at 7200 Georgia Ave NW. Go here for more details.
SATURDAY: 9-12 MARCH ON DC
Initial Oath Keepers rally point: Farragut Square, 8:30 am.
Farragut Square is at K street and 17th Street, NW. It is bounded by I (eye) street to the South. Go here to see a map.
There are two Metro stations right there, Farragut North, which is on 17th, between L and K street, and Farragut West, which is at the SW corner of the Square, at 17th and I Street.
Look for the Oath Keepers banner at the center of the park, near the statue. Stewart will have his cell, 406-249-6461, but reception may be spotty. We will rally there at 8:30 am to meet and greet, discuss our plans for the day, and to distribute Oath Keepers outreach materials (be sure to bring a backpack or shoulder bag). We will have all kinds of cool giveaways for you so bring something to carry them in. We will stay at Farragut Square until 9:30, at which time we will start to march toward the rally point for the main march, at Freedom Plaza.
We will march SW, down Connecticut Ave, and then cut a SW diagonal through Lafayette Square, and then, if it is open, we will march down E. Executive Ave, in front of the White House. If that route is closed, we will instead go East to 15th Street, on the other side of the Treasury building and take 15th South to Pennsylvania Ave, and stop in Pershing Park.
Rally Point II: Pershing Park, at Pennsylvania and 14th Street NW, at 10 am. If you miss us at Farragut, go to Pershing and look for our banner (though it may be one huge mass of people by then). Pershing Park is just West of Freedom Plaza, which is the main rally point for the official march.
The official 9-12 march on Saturday begins at 1130 am from Freedom Plaza, located at 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. That’s about two blocks east and seven blocks south of our initial rally point at Farragut Square.
After the march, the rally will be on the west lawn of the Capitol, and is scheduled to start at 1pm.
Go here for important info on rules and restrictions for the march and rally.
OATH CEREMONY: 5:30 at Vietnam Veterans Memorial
We are not yet scheduled to do an oath ceremony as part of the main rally. However, we hope that will change. We will be ready and available to conduct that ceremony at any point it can be worked into the main rally. But if we do not do an oath ceremony at the main rally at the Capitol, we will do our own oath ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial, at 5:30. Watch our banner, and if the banner moves west (between 4:30 and 5pm) that means we are heading out to the Vietnam Memorial. Yes, it is a good hike, but we feel that it is the most appropriate place to conduct an oath ceremony, honoring those who most recently fell fighting communists, and recommitting to preserving our Republic. After the ceremony, we will travel to the Channel Inn for dinner. Those who just cannot make that hike, you can instead meet up with us for dinner at 6:30.
DINNER, 6:30 pm at Channel Inn.
50 Water St, S.W.
Washington, DC 20024-2422
Click here to see a map.
As noted above, we will have dinner at the Channel Inn at 6:30. Please RSVP ASAP. Email drew@oathkeepers.org. We will still be taking RSVPs up to the day of the rally, and even in person at Farragut Square, but if you wait, you may wind up in the main dining room rather than inside the private banquet room we have reserved.
Current weather calls for possible thunderstorms and highs in the eighties, so remember your hats, sunscreen, fluids, backpack or shoulder bag, and comfortable socks/shoes. Dress is casual, but we prefer that you don’t wear cammo.
Check back often for updates. Any questions, email drew@oathkeepers.org
You may be able to reach Stewart on his cell at 406-249-6461, but reception in the DC area is not guaranteed, especially during the rally.
Please donate and support Oath Keepers mission, every little bit helps!
