Army Vet: Serving My Country Was The Highest Honor
I joined the army in 1979, I have always thought that being able to serve my country was the highest honor. When I took the oath to serve my country that oath was to be until death. My greatest honor was when I was given my uniform to wear. My heart was bursting with pride after taking the oath and putting on my uniform. I walked straighter, held my self and my every action to a higher standard, as I did not want to dishonor the army, or the oath. I live next door to the marine base here in NC and every time I go on base I watch them going through their paces on the firing range. I see them in convoy when they are leaving to go to IRAQ or AFGHANISTAN. I can stand on my deck and watch the marines fly over. I stand and salute them, they need to know we are with them every step of way. I watch their families try to maintain while they leave the country.

My job in the military to start with was a tank mechanic. It was a job i I Loved. The first time i drove a tank I thought it couldn’t get any better. Then through the years as i advanced to other jobs, I found the more I did the more duty stations i moved to. I met great people. Before my last duty station, I was assigned to St Louis MO, at the record center. I was what they called a career adviser to call and talk to ex-military that still had time on books to come back in and train on their mos. I say about 90% came back, they too felt the pull of returning to duty. They to missed being a part of our great Military. My sad day was after i had been injured on duty and could no longer wear my uniform. As a disabled veteran i still take great pride and honor in knowing I was apart of the best military in the world.

As a two tour NAM vet I strongly believe in the oath that I took to SERVE my country. NOT some over politicized communist that got elected, by using a catch phrase. Just as Charlton Heston said “From my cold dead fingers!”
The Constitution HAS NOT outlived it’s time! If anything it is needed more now than ever before. We are facing internal destruction from a regime that wants total control. They want us to be subserviant to a communist ideology that has out lived it’s time.
Muslims shall not rule my country, illegal aliens shall not break us, and gang bangers need to be placed on notice, that soon they will no longer be tolerated. Long live the Republic! Liberal is just another name for COMMUNIST. I WILL NOT live a slave, but will die a FREE MAN!
I will not pledge alligance to this, or any other official. My alligance is to my GOD, my COUNTRY, and my OATH to protect this nation from ALL enemies, foreign and domestic.
DUTY HONOR AND COUNTRY, not politicians!

Welcome, and thanks for speaking out! My dad was in that unit. I remember getting in trouble because I snuck a t-shirt to school that had that patch on it in the 1st grade. The word ‘Hell’ was SOOOO taboo.
