Navy Veteran And Baptist Deacon Joins Oath Keepers

EC-70458I volunteered for the U. S. Navy and shipped out for Great Lakes Naval Training Center on 7 Nov 1972. I was with the first group of 18 years olds under the 26th Amendment [I voted by shipping out]. In 1989, I joined the Colorado ANG,5th BN, 19th SFG and served for 6 years as a Staff Sergeant. My MOS was 98H – Morse Code Interceptor on a SOTA Team [Support Operations Team - Alpha]. I now serve as a Deacon in an Independent Baptist church, and have joined the Oath Keepers because of my oath to the Constitution and to Jesus Christ [Romans 13 - Render unto Ceasar].

Thank you for your service to God and Country. So many people in this Republic conveniently forget that this country was founded on Judaeo Christian teachings. The movement to take the Lord out of all things remotely connected to the government is very upsetting to me and my colleagues.

I’m proud to stand with you in our struggle to protect the constitution and faith in the Lord.

    Very Respectfully,

Robert A. Gomez MSgt, USAF (Ret)

    Respectfully…

The Holy Bible was written by men of god over 2000 years. The church served as a form of government itself and is responsible for war crimes -> just because the inquisition and other atrocities happened hundreds of years ago WHY SHOULD WE FORGET ?.

All humans should be able to practice their own faith if they need any at all. I live in the Netherlands and 60% of people are atheist or agnostic. WEIRD BUT TRUE.

The American constitution in my eyes is really and truly A SHINING STAR OF HOPE and an example that should be used around the world!

However their should be a division between the christian bible and the constitution -> if the constitution is to serve all people.

This country was founded on the judao christian mind set. It will stay that way. In America we can if we choose to follow the God of our choice or none at all. Most Americans believe that God helped found this country and will be our guiding light.
I am 62 and have never been afraid for this country but I am now. I pary to God that he will give us all the strength to keep it together.

I also believe/know that this country was founded
on the Judeo-Christian beliefs that say we can
worship the God of ALL ceation with freedom from
fear of tyrany. The Bible says to worship God in
spirit and in TRUTH! Yet if we are kept from hear
ing the truth, like other nations are, how shall
we survive as a nation? We must take back our Nation now ! In Psalm 119:106, king David said
“I have taken an oath and have confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.” He sounds like an OATHKEEPER to me! Thanks,Deacon, for standing up for righteousness!

Our Constitution is only suited for a moral, God-fearing society. Welcome to OK.

Everywhere I look…at forums, blogs and other public comms…anyone who proclaims Christ while expressing a political opinion seems to get a lot of grief about “separation of church and state”. IMHO, it’s gratifying to know that there are those who understand that one need not preclude the other.

God bless our clergy for their boldness in taking a stand as Christian citizens in a country founded on Judeo- Christian principles. There are those who would deny this fact, but my considered philosophy is this: “Truth remains the Truth no matter who believes it.”

My love for my country does not necessarily describe my love for the politicians who want to bastardize the concept of America, but rather for the precepts which our Constitution outlined. I love my country…I pity those who would destroy it and those who blindly “follow the leader” while she is torn down.

May God keep the Oath Keepers safe and uphold their courageous efforts to see that the Constitution is followed in the spirit that it was written.

    Dear Deacon,
Glad to have you. I am an Independent Baptist preacher in North Carolina. Many people do not realize that it would be impossible to divorce the influence of Bible Christianity from our history. American history is FULL of Christian patriots. Some of the greatest proponents of Liberty were the Baptist people. Those who are not people of faith need not fear those who are. Faith is a matter of individual soul liberty not forced conversion. A very hearty welcome!
