I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy. ~ Youtube

Iam a Democrat but first I am an American. I almost voted for the Obama but changed my mind at the last minute due to unanswered questions I had about what he stood for. I ended up writing in Ron Paul. After the mess that the republican admin got us into I felt we needed the dems in office. Unfortunatly I am learing that Socialist goal minded groups saw this too and are riding on the votes of honest democratic voters like me. Our leaders feel that we were so sick of what was going on with Bush we would accept any change. I am proud to say that what you did and said is reflected in the thoughts of many democrats also. Yes we needed change in the way our government was being run. This does not mean change what our forefathers built for us. We all need to bring our fellow countrymen away from the hype of change that our current admin is making and change it back to what our original leaders intended. I now see the republican party trying to use the opposition in their favor. I ask that we not fall into this trap again. This is not a Democratic / Republican issue. This is an American Ctizens Sovereignty Issue. I personally feel that bot of our parties have failed to lead us in the right direction. So Stand Up America as David has. Semper fi Marine! As a former Marine I can tell you that I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore. As for the rest of you, you too should stand by his side and the side of all of us. It’s time we took our country back. By the way, a congress person said, that those of us who want our country back are racist. Think of that. Racist’s. Just because we the people want to be heard.
My own congress person is nothing but a coward for not holding a open town meeting. That would be Mike Thompson, Sonoma County California. As is Lynn Woolesy, that bitch. She too is the big problem right here in my home state. She is nothing more than a yellow bellied coward who refuse’s to meet with we the people. It’s time for us to elect people that will respond to us and not to wall street.
They work for us, we don’t work for them. Let them know, that we will not allow them to rule us, but we will rule them.

What we need is a political “revolution” … what we need is to see a whole honkin truck load of vets running in the coming elections. We need to see a national upwelling of constitutional vets, with a nationally concerted effort, standing up and telling it like it is & running for any seats available. We’ve got very few choices in how to “take our country back” and some of them are not good topics for polite company. However, there is this option of our vets who’re sick and tired of talking and protesting and objecting, those vets who recognize with much frustration that our voices are being both unheard and disrespected, to run for seats in future elections. We would need vets who’re accustom to taking on “impossible missions” and winning. We’d need vets who are passionate about winning against the odds. We’d need vets to come out of the wood-work to vote for men/women of honor to fill the available seats.
My “open question” to all vets is “Are you that person ?” or … “Do you know that vet who’d do the job right in filling the seat and in turning the country back to its constitutional origins ?”
Thank you for standing up my brother! We veterans must all stand up and be counted to the tyrany of this administration and what it wants to do to our country!

I am a born in the USA Proud American who never served in the Armed Forces of the United States (my mistake) however, my father did for 24 years my brother did for 26 years and I have two sons who serve in the United States Army both who have done multiple terms in Iraq and Afganistan. I too can see what is happening in America now and it is not good. I am so gald that I found this site today and I want to thank you for standing up for our rights it makes me feel like there really is hope for this Great Nation if We The People stand together.

I want to let you all know that I intend to challenge Brain Baird for his seat in 2010. I am not sure how I will fund or staff this challenge, but I know I must. He has made it clear that he never intends to faithfully defend our Constitution. Because of this I must challenge him. After all, I have an oath to uphold.

For years we let our Government do what ever, now its gone too far. For the first time I have stated my opinion to several officials holding office. I my self have taken the oath twice. The second time at the age of 45 I volunteered for Iraq and now I’m disabled. I felt I outdone my service to my Country. David, you have done even more. I got a copy of your YouTube video via email and cried. WHAT A BLESSING YOU ARE!!!! I have a daughter who is a Sgt. in the Army and she doesn’t see what is going on over her. She is in Germany, and doesn’t believe anything I tell her. My grandbabies are with her and I worry about them. Her husband is a 1st Sgt. and while sitting at my kitchen table during leave this past June, he matter-of-factly stated that if issued the order, YES… he WOULD fire on fellow Americans. His rationale? “THEY” (the govt) sign his paycheck! Doesn’t that make him a mere thug for hire? I wanted to throw him out of my house right then. Imagine the terror… he is my son-in-law and he would kill his own family… US! I thank God… for you and ALL THE OATHKEEPERS! I served in the US Navy on board an Amphibious Assault Ship – our job was to transport and launch Marines into combat. I am proud to have served next to guys like David Hedrick. I like this brother, I was really proud of Americans standing up during the August recess. I thought it was pretty awesome to see the Party’s, I attended one here where I live, and the Town Halls meetings being attended by Great Americans. What has me concerned is after all that we have done, and all that we have said to our Reps, They still don’t get it! or they do get it and and just don’t care. Close to 2 million people show up in D.C. and they just snub their nose at us. This President is hell bent on destroying our Country, there is no other reason than I can think of. The trillins of dollars being spent and another Tarp bill coming soon. He will crash our whole economic system and we will be at their mercy. The Health Care issue is nothing more than a power grab. The horrific path the USA is going down is because many are remaining silent or are still brainwashed by their TV’s. As an Army vet I must say I am disappointed by what he said. His speech, although emotionally moving, was short on facts. The Nazis we Nazis, even though they called themselves socialists. They were far right next to fascism.

Your passion is inspiring, as is the whole premise of the Oathkeepers. Perhaps you are the right person to help me understand something -
What I don’t understand, and wish I did, is why President Obama’s desire to provide a medicare type health care option so more Americans can get health coverage meets with so much resistance and is referred to as fascist? Many people with fledgling small businesses will be helped by this, and if it can be done without eliminating private options and by cutting waste rather than raising taxes, which is what I understand Pres. Obama is trying to accomplish, why does this raise the ire of so many? I really would like to understand this, because to me this is an area where government could actually be helpful.
I would be curious to know why someone such as yourself equates this with fascism?
