Sergeant First Class John C. Beale June 11, 2009 Funeral Procession
Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

After watching this video about nine or 10 times now. It still brings tears to my eyes every time. If our fine young men and women to die fighting for us abroad. We should all be willing to fight for our freedom here at home
God Bless SFC Beale and ALL of our men and women in the military. When I watched this video I was moved by the number of citizens that turned out to pay their respects to this fallen hero. It is obvious to me that the majority of American citizens are faithful, patriotic people. If men and women like SFC Beale are willing to sacrifice their very lives for this country, would it be too much to ask that we, the living, sacrifice three or four hours a week to stand up for the Constitution, and the principles that made this country great?! Thank you, John, for your selfless service. May you Rest in Peace.
Thank you, sir, for your life, freely given for others.
As I watched this video, I began to picture all of those folks on the side of the road holding weapons, honoring that which is expected and not seen as out of the ordinary: the logical cost of freedom, exacted upon all free men and women, but more often not called due. The honor of equals, knowing the truth is much too grave to need exaggertaion.
The thinking that accompanies the actions of those we call heros, and rightfully so, is often that this is not hero stuff, just a matter of doing what needs to be done. And the desire to be seen once again as equals, hoping that others will perform the same way should his/her survival depend on them.
I don’t see this as dimenishing in any way that sacrifice but rather objectively recognizing all as equally liable for the asking, understanding that I could just as easily be required to sacrifice my own life defending my country, if I were living in a war zone.
I live in the United States, so I’m not living in a war zone as yet, but what if I were? Would I hesitate? For me, that’s a major advantage of the OK’s and the Appleseed experiences, (Appleseed is still on the To Do list), to better prepare myself mentally and physically for the split second in which I may be required to act. If you life or your childrens’ lives depend on me, you deserve my best, just as this young man gave. That makes him very special, a hero.
Pretty music. But lets not lose sight of the truth. He did not die “fighting for us”. He died for foreign bankers.
NWOenemy.
Thank you for throwing shite on an Amercan hero and attepting to mire his sacrifice with disgace…..
You, sir, are more repugnant than anything that could wind up on the bottom of my boot while walking through a hog pen.
Please crawl into a hole and die!
God’s speed SFC Beale, yor sacrifice will not be forgotten by those that care.
NWOenemy,
We are honoring this man. You don’t know what was in SFC Beale’s heart, or why he volunteered. You speak of not losing sight of the truth, but unless you were a confidant of SFC Beale, you have no clue.
To use this man’s sacrifice as a prop in your conspiracy theory is beyond poor taste. Is it too much to ask that you appreciate the fact that people will volunteer to defend our Constitution, without maligning them after they die. Be a man and go preach to the soldiers in the field. Tell them why they are fighting, and you might get a quality education when they correct your misconceptions.
NWOenemy,
I always find it odd that people like you don’t stand up and let us know who you are. You always hide behind something. If you believe your convictions, stand up, come out from behind your mama’s skirt and let us see you. Or remain a coward.
Although I don’t agree with NWO Enemy’s statement, as it does not truly depict the issue at hand, I must say this is part of the problem.
SFC Beale’s sacrifice is just and honorable, but the fact that his oath, and sacrifice was abused by the parties pointed out by NWO Enemy still remains an equally strong fact in this equation.
It does in no way demote the value of SFC Beale’s sacrifice, and what he personally may have stood for. He’s sacrifice has also shown the existence of a strong unity in the community, and people are surely becoming aware of what it means for them individually and collectively.
It is not a question of using SFC Beale as a “prop in a conspiracy theory” but we all know 9/11 was questionable reason to send him and many many others out. This is not making a prop out of SFC Beale, but recognizing, the simple fact, that a need to unite against such unjust use of troops is a must, as much as the Oath Keepers recognize the 10 basic orders not to be obeyed.
SFC Beale made the ultimate sacrifice, and as such he will be remembered, and I can only pray we do not have to send young men and women into battle for further questionable causes, as such use of the good morals and upstanding citizens willingness to participate, is always at risk of abuse of the current leaderships alternative agenda.
I believe the Oath Keepers, many times more than others, also recognize this fact, and realize the risks of the Oath being abused.
Well the only reason that NWOenemy can voice is opinion be it warped, is because of sacrifice that great men and women have made in the past and present and in the future, You sir are not worth the time to get my blood pressure up, you are one of the sheep that we the sheepdogs protect from the wolfs. So your comment falls very short of hitting it’s mark. Rest in peace my brother. SFC Beale you are one of many Great Americans thank you for your life… Thanks to your family so sorry for your grief, But know this America is a better place because men like SFC Beale have served.
SFC Beale is a true American Hero. May he never be forgotten. For nwo enemy you make me sick sir as a two time Iraq war veteran I wish for you to burn in HELL. It is weak Americans like you that bring this country to shame. What have you ever done for your country or your fellow man??? You have your feedom due to great Americans such as SFC Beale. I you dont support our troops and this great country I invite you to get the hell out.
That was an amazing and touching video. All those people who lined the street to honor this fallen hero, serves as a reminder that this is still indeed The United States of America. Thank-you for sharing. God bless SFC Beale and his family. God Bless America. People like nwo enemy need to keep their mouths shut. How disrespectful to the hero who gave the ultimate sacrafice and to his family. He should be thanking SFC Beale and his family. My son was in Iraq. I am greatful that he is home now celebrating his birthday today. The Beales will never have that. So nwo enemy crawl back under the rock from whence you came.
NWOenemy is right on target.
I am not afraid to say my name or that I live in Ellensburg, WA. While I greatly respect the reason soldiers go to war for our country, so many times they are victims of the corruption behind the government that puts them in harms way – the SAME one, “domestic enemy”, that you take your oath against.
You hypocrates.
God bless our country, God Bless our People, and damn those domestic enemy who are destroying our country AND our soldiers.
God bless Ron Paul and bring our soldiers home now!
The whole purpose of this website on which this video is posted is to stand against the “domestic enemy” (corrupt government) that is destroying our Constitutional Government. These corrupt government entities ARE the New World Order. They ARE one and the same! They ARE the domestic enemy sacrificing our soverignity shipping our jobs overseas (world jobs instead of American jobs) and bringing in cheap immigrant labor to destory the middle class (voice) of America and, YES, sending our soldier to unholy wars based on greed and profits of the same NWO elite that are now controlling and corruption our government and Constitution.
The fact that this video is posted on this website makes it entirely appreopriate to stand against those who would honor this soldier without acknowledging the corruption in our government that coerced him (even some of you here) who sent him to his death for unjust reasons. In that recognition, is a greater honor to honor that soldier AND the government that mislead him. The Domestic Enemy of our country. And if you do not understand that, then WTF are you doing on this website.
“In that recognition, is a greater honor to honor that soldier AND the government that mislead him.”
Should have read
“In that recognition, is a greater honor to honor that soldier AND concurrently recognizing the corruption of the government that mislead him.”
I live in McDOnough, GA. I recently received the following email from my GA State Representative, Steve Davis, regarding the video about Sgt. John Beale’s homecoming who had been killed in Afghanistan just days before and the video chronicles the procession from the military transport plane that landed at Falcon Field airport in Peachtree City, GA to the the funeral home in McDonough, GA in June of 2009,
I first learned of this event in an email only TWO days beforehand from the Henry County Commissioner (where I live) detailing the funeral procession route. Then, State Representative Steve Davis sent an update to the route to his email list just ONE day before this event occurred. I say that because you’ll be shocked to see how many people showed up after these two emails, quite literally, went viral. I remember, too, that we were having a heat wave that week and it was still about 98 degrees outside at 6 p.m. when all the people began lining up to pay their last respects.
Anyway, the video apparently went viral, too. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’ll want to go get a box of tissue first.
“A Hero’s Salute” Awarded George Washington Honor Medal
ATLANTA – The video “A Hero’s Salute – Staff Sgt. John Beale” has been chosen to receive the George Washington Honor Medal at this year’s Freedoms Foundation National Awards Program. Over 3 million people have viewed the video, created and posted online by state Representative Steve Davis (R-McDonough). Freedoms Foundation selected this video for their prestigious award because it promotes an understanding and appreciation for our country’s rich heritage and unique freedoms.
“I am humbled that the Freedoms Foundation has recognized this video with such an honor,” said Rep. Davis. “It is with great appreciation that I will have the opportunity to accept this award on behalf of the Beale family, the Henry County community, and all those thousands of patriots who gave this soldier a true Hero’s Salute. I would also like to recognize Lieutenant Nebel and Sargent Patton of the Henry County Police Department for their efforts coordinating this final farewell. We have all been deeply inspired by the overwhelming response of support for this soldier who gave the ultimate sacrifice.”
The award winning video depicts the final route taken by Staff Sgt. John Beale, who was killed earlier this year when his humvee was attacked in Afghanistan. Thousands of patriotic Americans are seen standing along the route with American flags and signs in support of the fallen soldier during his trip from Falcon Field in Peachtree City to his family and final resting place in Henry County.
“This video captured the essence of everything my husband loved, fought for, and lived for,” said Crystal Beale, wife of Staff Sgt. Beale. “He would want us to make sure our American soldiers are never forgotten. My family is honored that this video has touched so many lives. God bless the USA.”
As a side note regarding the video… Near the end, just as “Taps” is beginning to play, there is text in the video that displays “Passing ELCA”. This is the church where SFC Beale was a a member: Eagles Landing First Baptist Church aka Eagles Landing Christian Academy (ELCA). Those folks are his people.
As a current Soldier, I have lost a few friends “over there”. I followed one friend in a funeral procession a few years ago, and it was probably the most sad, proud and profound thing that I have experienced. This video brought all those memories back to me.
