Testimonial of Sgt. John Meaders, Current Serving California Highway Patrol Officer

What has our country come to where the citizens, whose very job is to protect America, are troubled by thoughts of recrimination when announcing or reaffirming their allegiance to our Constitution?
In the last 34 years, I have taken this most sacred oath twice. If either my current police department or old Army unit has a problem with my commitment to America, they should pack up and leave our great country because I will defend it against all enemies! I pray those who find offense with this post will move aside so freedom will be won without bloodletting. Thanks for standing tall “Oath Keepers” and please feel free to post my name.
“Yes, we must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately.” – Dr. B. Franklin

I have spoken with dozens of CHP and local Sheriff Deputies that all have said, “we would never be a part of gun confiscation or anything to do with violation of the constitution”. God Bless all the LEO’s and military men.

I am very concerned at the direction this country is heading. I believe I will see war on our soil I want to be on he side of those like my self who took an oath to support and defend the US constitution. How do I connect?

Sarg,
I left the patrol with high blood pressure after 23 years (Served from 1966 through 1989). I was CHP following my three years in the army. As a member of the Commissioner’s “Rubber Gun” squad, I then worked as a County Criminal Investigator as a Shooting Scene Reconstruction expert and Collsion Reconstruction expert, for 20 years.
A stroke and a heart attack left me relegated to again work traffic enforcement, this time for a gated community. (Sort of my last stop at age 67). As a 24 man department, we are currently involved in FEMA training, and while I see the value to organizing our efforts for disasters, some of the other aspects of the federal control leave me wondering. I see the federal government involved where local people are most qualified.
Glad to see you involved with Oath Keepers. I fear that our country is being highjacked, and I believe it’s time we stand up and be counted. Thanks again for honoring your oath to preserve the Constitution, our Republic, and our way of life. I proudly stand beside you.
