Please post the address of the HOA so we can all write a letter and let them know just how un-American this truly is!
“A Lake Highlands homeowners association is backing down from a fight it picked with a retired Marine.
“This has all been blown way out of proportion,” Darenda Hardy, president of the Woodlands on the Creek II HOA in northeast Dallas, said Wednesday. `I’m not anti-Marine and I’m not anti-military.`”
So hopefully they learned their lesson.
As one who has been up against HOA’s previously myself, tell them to stick it where the sun never shines, but that you would more than happy to make the sun shine there for them.
How dare that Obama supporter? Take out a suit against the HOA Pres. Give him a taste of his own medicine and if he doesn’t want to listen, make him an offer he won’t refuse and let him know that without any witnesses. The bum.

Being proud of service to country is more than a first amendment right it is American in all that it stands for. Anyone who challenges that is a traitor to this nation and it makes no difference what excuse they make they will just do their dasterdly work in more devious ways. These people need to have their faces posted so we can properly reduce their public stature and hopefully their income as well. Decent people are everywhere looking for work and respect our nation, why have anti-Americans employed when deserving men and women are at hand?
Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:
One , illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and
secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the
trafficking in drugs and people No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no
resolution. P.S., I’m not a racist. This isn’t to be confused with legal
immigration.
Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to
it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95%
repealed. Freeze, repeal.
Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped
immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the
process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.
Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to
say.
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive
decision. Don’t you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go
on break. Slow down!
Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully
restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your
own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why
don’t you start there.
Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010
census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees
contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the
funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations.
I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don’t
trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and
get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks
like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political
buddies. You work for us, the people Investigate.
Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I
have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me
jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got
a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why — what
do you have against shareholders making a profit?
Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I
have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we
know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt
out, please. We want to do it ourselves.
Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If
there are hard times ahead, we’ll be better off just getting into it and letting
the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We
will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us
the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed
us.
Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it?
Let’s have it. Let’s say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight
honest talk. Please try — please stop manipulating and trying to appease me
with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking
around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be
a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.
Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now. Take a breath. Listen to the
people. Let’s just slow down and get some input from some non politicians on the
subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into
law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist,
a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I’m
busy. I’m busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people
to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our
families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure
our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the
weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our
children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the
brave.
They better force the removal of every logo and model ID on every vehicle in the lot! Isn’t that advertising??
(The Obummer 2008 sticker is false advertising!)
I first time visit in this post. I find this post have good information of bumper sticker.
Clear violation of first amendment rights. HOWEVER, The HOA and Darenda Hardy, its president had little to do with this incident. And here is why I know first hand,
The name of the complex is “the Woodlands on the Creek II HOA.” () Through some investigation into this matter, the following came to light: The one of the neighbors in that HOA, is a power hungry individual that likes to enforce things in that particular community, forwarding a political agenda. This individual gets little respect and attention with in this community because of her political activism. This individual arranged for multiple people, portraying themselves as fellow neighbors, call in the management and report the USMC decal’d vehicle, that it would get the response the individual deemed just. Essentially the individual used the “RULES and Regs” of the HOA against its people, much like our politicians use the laws and ACTs against the American People every day. (NFA, or brady law anyone?).
In the great state of TEXAS, HOA board members are forbidden from making money from their position. Thus, all of its members are volunteers and stand little to gain, since they themselves CANNOT change “Rules and Regs” with out the HOA COMMUNITY approval and VOTES. I hate to say it, but this was blown a little out of proportion. All parties involved now realize this also. HOA regulations and State laws regulating such, are one of the items in my list for the Texas house to give audience to. As such, this particular incident proofed worth investigating first hand.
This is the Dallas Morning News Article the person above was quoting from:

..X..
If it wasn’t for men like him, those bastards running the housing committee would probably be bowing to mecca five times a day by now.
I seriously doubt ANY HOA Declaration of Covenants can have ANY language regarding oversight and maintenance of ANY community in a manner that could violate a State Constitution. State Constitutions, in turn, probably cannot violate the U.S. Constitution. The situation here seems to be a clear violation of this Veteran’s 1st Amendment rights under the U.S. Constitution, and this should be actionable — first in a Texas Civil Court (under Texas state laws re: free speech) and then, if necessary, in a Federal District Court. The President of the HOA, and the entire HOA Board — which presumably should be contacted and pre-approve the sending of any such “dunning letter” — should be charged with a clear Constitutional violation of this man’s rights to put ANYTHING on his car that he wishes, provided it’s not profane or obscene, or otherwise violates civil laws concerning morality. If there are HOA laws concerning restraint of commercial “advertising” (i.e. not allowing contractor vans with company names and contact information) to be parked because of ‘neighborhood aesthetics’, then that’s a different issue that could be deemed “advertising”. But having Marine Corps stickers on a car is NOT commercial advertising, IMHO, any more than having a sticker saying “My Child Is An Honor Roll Student At Pickyournose High School” is commercial advertising. If the HOA President doesn’t IMMEDIATELY back down, retract this letter, and publicly apologize to this Veteran, the ENTIRE CITY ought to contribute to a fund for this gentleman to aggressively pursue a lawsuit against both the visible and ‘hidden’ perpetrators of this action, including the power-hungry woman who allegedly touched off the whole incident!
I would NEVER live in a neiborhood or housing developmet which involves a Home Owener’s Associton in any way, shape or form. You allow these people a nickle’s worth of power and they make themselves Gods.
